Dino, the guide, was excellent. He answered all my questions. And he was so passionate about his work. The weather was p - Leonardo knows his country and told the two us so many things on the four hour ride from Lima to Caral. The traffic was heavy but the time went fast with all the conversation. When we got to Caral, our site guide was Dino who was passionate about the site and had worked as an archeologist on the site for twenty five years . The exhibits were great but you need to know Spanish to read them of course. However, Leonardo was quick to talk about them. We had Lomo soltando in Huacho with chicha. The weather was perfect. Our driver, Alexandro, was a great driver as I would not like to navigate Lima!

A must-visit for any history or archeology buff! - Personable and knowledgeable guides on the journey and at this amazing, almost unknown, ancient site. Wonderful experience all the way around. Long drive, especially in Lima’s traffic, but worth every moment if you treasure archeology. Loved our guides, Leonardo and Jose’, and our expert driver.

Buenas vibras all around - Caral is a relatively new discovery and an excavation in progress. The present ruins are magnificent, but I came away so excited about what’s yet to be uncovered. Our guide, Nataly, is someone with a deep love of history and archeology, and her enthusiasm was contagious. The car ride to Caral is long, but Nataly kept us entertained with her knowledge of Peru, archeological, historical, cultural, gastronomical… she provided great insight into everything! Our driver, Isahir, was very accommodating, kind, and a lovely person to spend the day with. We all had an awesome day and learned a lot.

Don't forget hat and sunscreen! - The walk with Caesar and Louis was fabulous. Not only were they very friendly and attentive in the trip to the destination, but both went beyond the ordinary to explain the local particularities and recommend the spaces to visit in Lima and Peru. The site itself is very interesting and gives an account of the life that in the past there manifested itself, highlighting the structures there found in a very special way.

The Perfect Start to Our Trip - This trip was fabulous. We learned so much about the history and geography of Peru - not only while at Caral - but on the journey to Caral and back to Lima. Amadeo was a wealth of knowledge and happy to answer every question. It was the perfect way to start our trip.

Great tour with an excellent operator. Highly recommend it. - Booking with HAKU through Trip Advisor was very straightforward. They offer reserve now - pay later option. Our trip was on August 19, 2024 for which I made the reservation early in August, but they deferred the charge to my card till August 17, with free cancellation prior to that. We were in a group of six, four of us and two others. They picked us up at 5:45 am from our hotel in Mira Flores in a passenger van with a driver and a guide- JJ or Joel Jr. was the guide. JJ is very knowledgeable, polite, and professional, and spoke fluent English. He made the long drive very enjoyable, telling us history of Peru, its people, and culture. It took 4.5 hrs to get to Caral and 5 hrs on the return. We spent about 2.5 hrs visiting the ruins at Caral. It turned out to be a long day - we got back to the hotel around 7:00 pm because the traffic in the city was bad. Overall we are glad we went to see the oldest known cradle of civilization. Highly recommend HAKU and kudos to JJ. Thank you HAKU.

The Unearthing of History - Learning about the brilliance and creativity of the first and succeeding settlers of the region is fascinating. As the excavation of the sites continues it will be interesting to learn more about the stories of the people of Peru. This experience is a gift of learning for me.

Dawn of American Civilization - Oldest city in the Americas and the continent’s best kept secret. Fantastico! Credit to Saoul, Arum, and Miguel for getting me there and back (Haku Tours)! Apols if I misspelt names. A great day.
