Highly recommended. Jose was outstanding - This was a last minute excursion. I’m so glad we chose it. Jose was a very good organizer. I learned a great deal about Caral. I honestly think this was my favorite experience. The 10 person tuktuk was perfect for our group to get from parking to the pyramids. Jose preordered lunch which worked out well. The lunch place was nice and had a huge menu with variety. The highway was closed for a part which added two hours of traffic to the trip. This is not the tours fault . The driver had nerves of steel to get us home safe through it all. The van was comfortable.

The history geeks - When I made the reservation I did not know what to expect but my husband and I were very interested in visiting La ciudad sagrada de Caral. Everything went well beyond our expectations. Instead of being part of a group, the only people who signed up for that day were two of us. We had a driver (Antonio) and a guide (Jose) to ourselves. It was magical! We highly recommend visiting this unique archeological site recognized as after Mesopotamian the second oldest civilization and it's only 6 hours from the US.

A pleasant drive up the coast - A wonderful drive along the coast. The historical sight was fascinating, and the beaches we stopped at on the way back reminded me of the beach front atmosphere in San Diego where I grew up. Apparently, the folks in Peru love hanging out and having fun in the sun as much as the folks back home!

Extraordinary! - If you like ancient history, this is the tour for you. Bring a good hat, sunglasses, and sunblock, because you will be walking in the desert completely exposed to the sun for at least two hours. The Supe River was full when we went, so we had to walk to the city from the parking area. Our guide said there was a different road with a river ford that is drivable when the river is lower. This would get you closer to the site. He can also arrange for a tuk tuk ride across the river when it's lower. The scale of the pyramids and intricacy of the architecture at the site is extraordinary, and the views of the vibrant, green valley below the desert plateau where the city sits are stunning! These structures predate the Egyptian pyramids at Giza, but you can visit them for a fraction of the cost and without the crowds. Our guide, José was very informative and answered all our questions thoroughly. The afternoon trip to the beautiful seaside town of Barranca was a great way to cap off this wonderful tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lima.

Caral: Ruins of the oldest civilization in the Americas and second oldest in the world. - Unique. Ruins not well known, few visitors, in spite of being the oldest civilization in the Americas.

Worth it for such a fascinating place - This experience was fantastic and so worth it. It’s not something that most tourists do. Jose was a wonderful guide and Caral was so interesting. We learned so much and Jose answered our questions. The day is long, but the trip is great. The lunch spot and trip up to view point are nice before getting back in the car. We are thankful we chose to do this trip.

Takes you back 5000 years! Where else in the world? - This trip is not for everyone. It's about 12 hours and 7 of that is driving there and back from Lima. That said, it is amazing. Jose was an excellent guide, friendly, full of interesting information and he genuinely cares about your experience. The site is astounding and really takes you back 5000 years to the second oldest civilization in the world. It's too bad this is not a more world renowned site. For someone with patience and stamina, the payoff is well worth the effort.

No accountability taken - Horrible experience. Phone numbers and names have been blocked out for privacy and professional reasons. See photos below of all our proof .We were not able to go. We tried to arrange for a pick at our Airbnb and gave our location a day or two before. They verified our address and said to be ready at 5 am. The next day they said they could not find us and called . We communicated with two people, the driver and the guide, they said give us your address again and we did. An hour later they called back and said there are two Pisagua’s in Lima and that we were too far away. They said there is a pick up zone but we have to be there in 10 minutes which we couldn’t get to so we said we were not going. Tried to get some refund, not a full one but they should be held accountable because we told them in emails a day or two prior and in WhatsApp our Airbnb address. The driver verbally told us there were two addresses that morning and since we did not record it there is no proof. We have all the emails with the same address. We talked to Viator which is who would give the refund and they said no. Very disappointed , we even said we could pay a driver to bring us home from the hotel. The women at Viator was nice and professional but because we did not have proof that the guy said there was two addresses we won’t be getting any refund. I don’t know how much more proof you need because it’s all in the emails and texts
