The city of Carcassonne - La Boulangerie de la Cité at 3 Rue Saint-Louis, 11000 Carcassonne, France is close to the Basilique Saint Nazaire, a very clean, nice and welcoming environment. Here we had breakfast for 4 days and lunch once. The pastry part is fabulous, sweets and fantastic pasta. For lunch they offer different solutions that you can check from their site or from the photos I attached. You can choose whether to eat in the indoor dining room or on the outdoor terrace in front of the entrance. Friendly and helpful staff. Prices (a bit high) are in line with those of all places in Carcassonne. Highly recommended. Navigation on the Canal Du-Midi, near the two vans where you can get tickets there are several outdoor parking lots, we instead parked in the underground paid right in the square adjacent to the two vans mentioned above. The difference between the two solutions is only boats for navigation as the journey is the same. We did the one lasting 1.5 hours of navigation on the canal passing 2 locks. During navigation, in addition to the 2 locks, you see only a few abandoned boats, a house, vegetation and nothing more. Honestly I only Recommendation to those who have never seen or passed locks to see how a boat sails on a canal with different water heights.

A great treasure hunt in Carcassonne - A great treasure hunt around Carcassonne. It was just the right length and not too difficult. The ghost story is combined with historical facts so you learn a lot in a fun way.

Loved finding out Carcassonne - Loved walking around Carcassonne looking for clues and learning history. The story was a bit naff but I really enjoyed the experience. Had a bit of difficulty downloading the details but on- line chat soon sorted me out. From then it was plain sailing.

Great way to explore Carcassonne with kids - It took us 2 hrs (with some short breaks) to complete the game. Overall, a great experience and the best way to introduce some history to the kids. We ended up visiting places that we would have otherwise missed, including the lower town, mostly neglected by the tourists. Even inside the castle we were led to the various parts of it, e.g. gates, walls, that related to the ancient history of the Carcassonne. Otherwise, I think we'd have ended up just browsing through the shops and restaurants in the middle of the old castle, like most tourists. I could do away with the ghost story though, but would have enjoyed more historic facts and it'd be nice if the clues summed up to a big sentence/ fact/ word at the end.

A must-do in Carcassonne - A discovery of the entire Carcassonne. Keep in mind that there is a steep climb halfway up to the castle section. We really enjoyed this game where we learned a lot about Carcassonne.

We expected better! - The story and the game could have been nice but the explanations of the route need to be reviewed, as if the route had been done via maps and not on site, so there is no point in going back and forth.... So painful that we didn't finish the shame part!

Hot day in Carcasonne - A reasonable way to walk through Carcassonne. The story is probably aimed more for younger children - our teenagers soon tired of the narrative but it did provide structure. It took us to the key places and outside of the city. We would have preferred some more historical insight into the city as a learning walk. Reasonable value.

Very disapointed ! - I ordered this escape game as I have already done in several cities. I couldn't even finish. There were a lot of stairs to climb, so I put my phone in my pocket. Finally arriving at the top, I couldn't resume the game because I had to go back down to where I had closed my phone. No possibility of skipping the step. So I couldn't finish.
