A Room with a Theme

Our family adventure to LEGOLAND California began with a stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel, where the magic of LEGO extends beyond the park and into your accommodations. We initially booked the Ninjago balcony room on the first floor, a choice driven by my kids’ love for all things ninja. The room was a hit, with its vibrant decor and LEGO-themed surprises around every corner. However, when we realized our oldest would need an extra night, we had to switch to a pirate room on the second floor. The transition was seamless, thanks to the accommodating staff who made sure we were comfortable and settled without any hassle.

The hotel itself is a wonderland for kids, with themed rooms that spark imagination and creativity. The elevators, though a bit snug for families with strollers or wheelchairs, added to the charm with their playful music and decor. We did experience some wait times during the busy weekend, but it was all part of the adventure.

Dining Delights

The Bricks Breakfast and pre-paid dinner options were a lifesaver, offering a variety of choices that satisfied even the pickiest eaters in our family. The Dragon’s Den restaurant was another favorite, where we enjoyed meals in a relaxed setting. For our child with sensory sensitivities, the option to dine outside was a blessing, providing a calm environment away from the bustling indoor crowd.

The LEGOLAND Hotel pool, with its limited hours, was a bit of a letdown, but we found solace in the castle pool, complete with a hot tub that was perfect for unwinding after a day of excitement. The staff throughout our stay were exceptional, always ready to assist and ensure our experience was nothing short of magical.

Exploring the Park

LEGOLAND California itself is a treasure trove of fun and adventure. With over 60 rides, shows, and attractions, there was never a dull moment. Our kids were particularly thrilled with the new Dino Valley, where they embarked on roaring adventures on rides like Coastersaurus and Explorer River Quest. Miniland USA was a marvel, showcasing intricate LEGO models that captivated us all.

While the park was bustling with activity, we found a peaceful retreat on the quieter pathways, perfect for when we needed a break from the excitement. The photo pass was a great investment for capturing memories, though we found ourselves snapping plenty of our own pictures as well.

Our only hiccup was a minor incident on the cars ride, but it didn’t dampen our spirits. The Halloween-themed treats were a delightful surprise, though I missed out on the nachos, which were sold out by the time we got there. However, the witch’s brew was a tasty consolation.
