The journey starts and wraps up at the Mission Ranch Hotel, owned by Clint Eastwood, who is an actor and the former mayor of Carmel. From this point, we navigate through the southern extension of the quaint village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, moving towards the Mission Basilica, and finally arriving at the Mission Trail Nature Preserve. As you move along, you’ll gain insight into local California and Carmel’s early history, witness a range of architectural designs in Carmel from mission-style to contemporary, and listen about some intriguing inhabitants.
The duration of this walking tour is two hours and covers a distance of two miles.
Note: This tour excludes a visit inside the Mission Basilica. To enter the Basilica, its five museums, cemetery, and courtyard, you need to buy a ticket from the Gift Store.
