Arriving at the Tinajas natural pool and waterfalls, I was immediately captivated by the crystal-clear waters and the inviting allure of the swinging rope. The opportunity to jump from rocks up to 15 feet high was too tempting to resist, and I found myself embracing the thrill of the moment. The water was refreshing, and the experience of swimming in such a pristine environment was nothing short of magical.

After a brief hike to another natural pool, we were greeted by a 20-foot natural waterslide that promised even more excitement. The option for a 3-foot high jump from a rock added to the adventure, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of childlike joy as I slid down the waterslide, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the rainforest. It was a day of pure exhilaration, where the boundaries between nature and adventure blurred into a seamless experience.

As the day drew to a close, we made our way to Luquillo, where a local mom and pop restaurant awaited us with the promise of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. The flavors were rich and satisfying, a perfect complement to the day’s adventures. Sharing a meal with fellow travelers, we exchanged stories and laughter, reflecting on the incredible journey we had just experienced.

Driving through the local farms of Fajardo, we caught glimpses of cows, horses, and chickens, adding a touch of rustic charm to the day’s memories.
