Highlights
  • Isla Verde - Named after a small cay off the coast of Carolina. A key tourist destination located near the San Juan International Airport. There are excellent restaurants in the area if you get hungry.
  • Pinones - A fascinating settlement rich in natural resources and Afro-American culture. The residents of Pinones are descendants of slaves who were freed over the past few centuries.
  • Bosque Estatal de Pinones - The largest protected mangrove forest in Puerto Rico. We can visit the Pinones Lagoon, a stunning spot that most people (including locals) are unaware of. Learn about the history and culture of our African-American descendants.
  • Loiza Aldea - Visit the heart of Afro-American culture in Puerto Rico. Discover our music, traditions, and cultural activities.
  • Playa Vacia Talega - We will drive by some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see. If you want to take a swim, we can stop and enjoy the warm water. Bring your swimsuit, just in case.

This is a private tour, and we can customize it according to your needs.

  • Parque Historico Cueva Maria de la Cruz - Puerto Rico boasts an amazing cave system. Maria de la Cruz is a relatively small cave (by Puerto Rican standards), but it is an important archaeological site. It’s a great place to experience our geography, fauna, and flora.

Sometimes they have cultural activities that include African dances.

  • Rio Grande - A short hike in our tropical forest. Swim in pristine waters. Bring your swimsuit, towel, and an extra set of clothes.
  • Junglequí - A short hike in the rainforest, with the possibility to swim in the river.

Quite a lot. Puerto Rico is small, and has good infrastructure (road) so is easy to move from one place to the other.

We can visit some of Puerto Rico’s best tourist destinations, like the rain forest, the caves and Luquillo Beach.

This is not a regular commercial tour. I will show you different places. I will give you a lot of interesting information in a fun/informal way. We can be spontaneous. You can get to “feel”, “breath” and “enjoy” Puerto Rico.

Wonderful Tour! - Javier is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all things Puerto Rico. He knew so much history and what all of the buildings were. I feel like we saw things that we hadn't seen before and this was our 4th trip to Puerto Rico. It was an amazing tour and I highly recommend booking any of the tours with Javier. You will learn and have a great time!

Amazing trip years ago - I’d like to leave my review a couple years later. I don’t remember exactly what year it was. It could have been 2007. It was definitely before the hurricane. I visited Puerto Rico with my sister and we met Javier. He picked us up and we explored the rain forest. I recall Javier being very knowledgeable and guiding us along the way. It was a surreal experience exploring Puerto Rico. I remember Javier mentioning he was an archeologist ( if my memory is accurate ) We discovered some hieroglyphics in the rain forest. He went over them in detail and I remember taking many pics of the trip. It was very long ago. Along the way he was going into the history of Puerto Rico and the old San Juan. We made a couple trips along the way. Now if I can remember there was a guy we met along the way. Javier looked upto him. I believe his name was Efron and I think he had a dog. Let’s just say it was an enlightening trip. I am glad to see Javier is still a tour guide. Hopefully we will revisit one day.
