Highlights
  • Paseo Tablado de Pinones - In our cultural tour you will visit the town of Piñones where its rich culture, music and art is attributed to enslaved african ancestors from hundreds of year ago. Municipality of Loíza is arguably among the purest centers of true African culture in the Western world, tracing its ancestors to the Yoruba tribe of West Africa. Piñones is a must see picturesque ocean drive to Loíza where you can enjoy local dining experiences and practice what Puerto Ricans call chinchorreo. Sample delicious finger foods specialties ( 1pp included).

  • Loiza - The Municipality of Loíza in the island of Puerto Rico is home of a beautiful and easy-access cavern that is not too far away from Piñones sector: Cueva María de la Cruz. One of the earliest signs of human habitation was found at Loíza in the Cueva de María la Cruz- remains of the first Puerto Rico’s settlers, the Arcaico indigenous people, were found in this cave during an exploration led by anthropologist Dr. Ricardo Alegría in 1948.
This cavern is a limestone gem that shelters remarkable cave and limestone formations.

  • Monserrate Beach - Among top 30 world’s beaches is the Balneario La Monserrate in the eastern region of Puerto Rico, specifically in the town of Luquillo. The water is warm and calm and clear. Perfect for anyone but especially nice for families. The beach is lined with palm and almond trees. The clean, golden sand stretches for about a mile, backed by a grove of coconut palms, earning the locals the nickname of Los come cocos (the coconut eaters). In the distance you can see the dramatic peaks of El Yunque rainforest cloaked in purple thunder clouds.

  • Playa Luquillo - Famous seemingly endless string of friquitines, or kiosks sellings delectably rich local seafood specialties , Luquillo Kiosks are comprised of a row of around 60 family-owned kiosks selling food, drinks, and souvenirs. This is a perfect pitstop for fresh oysters and local food staples after enjoying a beach day on the east coast and a hiking at El Yunque.

  • El Yunque National Forest - Easy picturesque hike through the El Yunque rain forest to the sacred for Taino Indians river bath. Soak in the cool water of the only tropical rainforest in the USDA National Forest system. The El Yunque National Forest offers great biodiversity with distinct and varied ecological zones within a comparatively small area. Hundreds of different animal species make El Yunque their home, among them 26 endemic to the island. Eels, chopa fish and river shrimp can be seen in the cristal clear waters.

  • Canovanas - Driving back to the metropolitan area to the Panadería España or Condado. We’ll drive on the Highway 66 via municipality of Canovanas, known as la Cuna de los Indios (“The Indians’ Cradle”), or Pueblo Valeroso (“The Valiant Town”), in part because the local tribe helped defend the Spaniards from the native Taíno uprising in 1511. But the name that is most relevant nowadays is la Ciudad de las Carreras (“The Racing Horse Town”) since it is home to the only horse track on the Island and the local culture is closely tied to equestrian sport. With this we complete our exploration of five municipalities of the Northeast.

BEST TOUR EVER - ProfeNat's Tour is unmatched! Not only was she one of the kindest people I have met but she was also one of the most informative. She made us feel like we were on a tour of our own island, we were able to witness the beauty of EL Yunque, learn about the forest and Puerto Rican culture, and enjoy our time with awesome people. I have never been on a tour where it feels like your guide is family. She was AMAZING. If you are taking a tour Puerto Rico you better book with her or you would truly be losing out!

Best Tour Guide Ever! - Professor Nat made our tour of El Yunque absolutely amazing! She is incredibly informative, sweet, and passionate about her job. She showed us so many fascinating things and made the experience fun and engaging. Her hospitality was exceptional, and she even took us to the wonderful kiosks in Luquillo Beach and Pinones, adding an extra dimension to our trip. We would highly recommend her and would happily embark on this tour with her 100 times over!

Best ever! - Phenomenal excursion! Prof Nat was a wonderful tour guide. She took us from the mountains to the beach. We explored the beautiful rainforest with beautiful waterfalls. We swam in the creek with crystal clear water. Tasted delicious foods from the area. She was very fun and full of information. She provided us with some of her special sangria made with her homemade banana wine! I recommend this tour and would do it again!

Wonderful Day with a Wonderful Tour Guide - After searching forever for a private guide for a tour of El Yuque I came across Prof Nat's full day tour. Our group was staying outside San Juan and after a lot of back and forth with Viator I was able to confirm Nat could pick us up directly from the hotel (in the future I would book directly from her site to avoid confusion). I assumed since we were not coming from San Juan we would miss out on one of the first stops, a bakery, but Nat brought the yummy pastries to us. From there she catered the tour's itinerary to what we wanted to see not changing the length of the tour because of the change in pick up location. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about the island and its people. I learned so much from her tour and our whole group loved our day with Nat!

Great adventure with a knowlegeable leader - I highly recommend this tour. Natalia is very knowlegeable about the history and current activities on the island. She's very friendly and accommodating generously providing us with some local treats to taste. Traveling to El Yunque was much better with a knowlegeable guide compared with going on our own. The chance to swim at a beautiful beach was very enjoyable. She picked us up and dropped us off right at the location of our apartment. We really enjoyed our day together with her.

Professor Nat is a Great Tour Gude! - We were lucky to be able to book Professor Nat as our tour guide, as she is not often available. She is very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information about El Yunque Rain Forest and the eastern coast line. She is also well versed in Puerto Rican culture & foods. We climbed to both waterfalls, but she made sure first that we were comfortable doing the climb & constantly checked on us. She also provided some extras. Highly recommend!

Comfortable, not rushed and super fun day!! - Nat is an amazing tour guide! We had a group of 4 and we ended up having our own private tour. Excellent communication leading up to the day, and clear pick up instructions. She was right on time, and we never felt rushed despite all the activities she crammed into one day. She took pictures while my friends and I swam and hiked. She texted them to us at the end of the evening. Nat is super knowledgeable about the island, the history and the landscape. She picked us up in her own car so we weren’t riding in a big bus. We were able to talk easily and she is enjoyable to talk with and a lot of fun to be around! Well done!!
