A 40th Birthday to Remember! - I was hesitant to book this excursion based on some bad reviews but I did it anyway because everyone has to form their own opinion! I had the BEST 40th birthday on this excursion. Keep in mind, it’s an excursion there’s about 20+ people going on the tour with you. Be patient, go with the flow and it will be fun. Pick up was a little delayed. Thankfully, we were the last ones picked up because the bus was at capacity. It’s a process to get on the boat, waivers, bracelets, final payments, etc. maybe 30 minutes. The boat was big, in decent condition. No issues. It’s a speed boat! You’ll go fast! It was drizzling when we went but it’s all part of the experience. If you’re worried about your hair and makeup, then don’t go on this excursion. The lunch is basic. Bring your own snacks or buy food on the island. We bought a lobster at the first island while others snorkeled. IT WAS THE BEST LOBSTER I HAVE EVER EATEN! No butter or anything needed. We walked around talked to the locals. My husband talks to everyone! The locals on the islands work hard. Tip them and you’ll be treated very well! Cholon was just alright. The hype is overrated. I don’t like standing in water all day. It cost to use the restrooms too. Bring cash for the bathroom attendant. Baru was our last stop and that was the largest island and the best beach. We ate and drank on this island and watched the sun go down. Because we were having fun, we extended the excursion to include the bioluminescent bay. It’s not guaranteed and it didn’t happen for us. You’re out there for a very short time. The boat ride is longer… one thing we forgot…. It’s a one and a half bus ride back!!! 😂 also, the guys driving back don’t know where you’re staying. They just drive down the main road so pay attention once you’re in the area of your hotel, or they will pass it up. It’s a long but very fun day! The highlights of the excursion were… the lobster we ate, Baru island and meeting people from all over the world. Our tour guide, captain and co-captain were all great! Our guide (I cannot remember her name) even took photos of us and sent them to us! Don’t be cheap, when the bucket goes around give them a nice tip! My advice would be enjoy the day, relax and go with the flow for a fantastic experience and if you don’t want to take a bus home skip the luminescent bay! 😂 Other notes: not ADA friendly, not for people with issues being able to climb up and down. Lots of in and out of the boat.

The Most Fun on my Cartagena trip!!! - Our 5 island trip was amazing! Miguel was our host on the boat and he was so friendly. His bilingual skills are perfect for both Spanish and English speaking guests. My favorite islands were Baru and Cholon. I can’t wait to go back to Colombia and book this tour again, but with a private boat! Tip: bring plenty of cash in small denominations.

Amazing!! - Amazing!!! So organized and well planned. So much fun! We booked this last minute on a Saturday night and they still managed to pick us up and show us a great time Sunday morning. Gabi was literally the best part of the day. Sooo friendly, down to earth, and knowledgeable. We were able to choose our route for the islands and had a lovely lunch and hookah at the islands. We got to have a later pick up which we appreciated on a holiday and got to customize our day to what we wanted. We all had a great time and can't recommend this tour enough!

Crooks operating as tour operators - This tour operator and its staff were simply crooks and they ruined my big birthday celebration in Cartagena. Honestly, they should be prosecuted. First, I meticulously planned this trip as I was bringing a group of 23 people (comprising adults and kids). I wanted a big boat with multiple levels and paid for a 40-foot boat. However, they brought a boat that was half the size of what I paid for. It was tight, easily susceptible to the waves and everyone on the boat was soaked with water while on the tour. Second, the tour was supposed to be a 5-island tour. However, we went to only 1 island (Rosario Island). Third, the food and drinks at Rosario Islands were supposed to be included. However, the operators colluded with the Rosario Islands folks as they claimed that we still owed $500 after lunch and wouldn’t let us leave until we paid it. It was obviously a con job as the tour operators stood by and watched as we were fleeced (even after confirming that everything was included on the Island). Fourth, after we left Rosario Island, the operator took the boat to a shallow area of the sea, where they were some scary pirate-looking rascals (about 10 of them). The operator stopped the boat there claiming to be stuck in shallow water as the “pirates” got on board and demanded money from us to let us go/push the boat out of the shallow area (where the operator claimed we were stuck). The operator again stepped back and allowed the “pirates” to have their way with us. We ended up paying $300 to them. Again, this was obviously a con job with the operator in collusion. Lastly, my wallet containing all my credit cards, ID and $800 in cash went missing on this tour. I have no doubt that I was the victim of pickpocketing by the operators. They were about 5 people from the tour operator that were with us on the boat. All attempts to recover my wallet were unsuccessful. This operator should at least be banned from conducting tours as they are despicable and shady.

Horrible - If I could give it a zero, I would have. Please do not book this excursion, it’s a waste of money. We went to only 3 islands instead of five and it was boring. The first island they just dumping us there because we did not want to do the snorkeling, 2 island which was supposed to be the party island was dead and boring, no music, we just spend 2 hrs there and ate lunch, third island was the same, boring and ugly. Venders harassing you and one even stole my money and ran with it after I brought something and did not have exact change. Be careful with these vendors. If you want to have a good time, just go to playa Blanca. THIS TOUR IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY! The boat was small, so don’t expect the boat you see on the picture, drinks were just beer and water. Food ok, again not worth $120! I was so mad, I have booked many excursions with viator, I have never had an experience like that. Music is as almost non exist and not good communication and ambiance on the boat or the islands.
