Solo travel perfect - The 1st island is just a fort that can be viewed from far away the second one was an island with Escobar drowned. Bora bora was a party island (lots of people but the party is worth it) and then off to relax in Barú clear blue waters and finally seafood and time to go home. The experience makes it so you can meet new people great for a solo traveler

Sand, sun and lots of beach - Extremely fantastic experience, each of the islands with something different to explore, exploring the Caribbean Sea on the menhaden is incredible and finishing the experience with the plankton activity is the cherry on the cake

Great all day tour - It was fun!! The captain was great and so was our tour guide, Camillo. He was very knowledgeable and spoke great English! I wish we could’ve stayed a little longer at each island but it was still fun. We decided not to do the plankton because it is a little wait but it’s not bad if you’re actually prepared! The lunch they served was good.

Okay - The tour itself was just okay. I wish we spent more time in the Cholon, I feel like we wasted time and energy at other islands. They def rip you off so please bring cash!!!! They charge up to 25% at one island. The boat driver was so nice and just pushed through even when the waves got bad! Please be mindful and know how to say no.

Fun but beware of rough ride back & vendors - Our tour guide Luis was awesome! Lots of fun, always came with the tunes, and was looking out for us with all the vendors aggressively selling a variety of items at each stop. The downsides were the vendors and the ride back. Luis stayed with the people who were doing the plankton tour and the rest of us rode back on the speedboat but the ride was extremely bumpy and scary much different than when Luis was with us.

Nice boat ride - A friend recommended we do the islands. We used this same company for the tour de Penque which was fantastic! We appreciated being picked up from our hotel. We liked the tours of the islands. The breeze on the ride was wonderful. Rafa and Luis did a good job engaging the passengers. The lunch was good but sadly, was served cold because of the advanced preparation. Dislikes: there were too many people on the boat, so people were doubled up in some areas. The bathroom needs a light, or a warning to take your phone. The vendors on some of the islands are exhausting. Make sure you ask for the prices of those “popular” drinks. We got stuck for $100 USD for 2 drinks and fries! What a scam! You have to pay to use the port a potty bathroom on that island as well! Be careful on the island of Baru. As soon as I departed the boat, someone attempted to steal my phone out of my backpack! I am pleased to say I got it back, reported it to the agency and they were reporting the attempted robbery to the tour company. You don’t get dropped off at the pick point or offered a ride back. No one reminded us of that part! We came back earlier than the rest of the group because otherwise we would be stuck on the island for 3 hours and the return would be in the dark waters. Sadly, we discovered that we had to take a cab back to our hotel. Just be prepared.

5 Islands tour from Cartagena - The tour was ok. The islands around Cartagena are very beautiful. Nothing to complain about the tour organizers. The problem for me was the places where we stopped. It's not the kind of itinerary I like. I would have liked to have more time on the Baru Islands to spend on the beach.

Touristy, packed, dirty. Avoid at all costs. - Absolutely awful experience, I wish I could give this trip a 0/5 rating. I consider myself to be realistic and unbiased but I had to write a review of our trip. Our tour was set to meet at 8am. We met at the predetermined location and waited for about 45 min after which we walked about a mile to a bus we had to squeeze onto. The bus then drove us right back down the same walk we just took to get there. The bus ride ended up being 30+ min across the city to a seemingly random boat yard. There we boarded a boat but were packed on in what seemed to be the company trying to get as many people as possible onto one boat. I counted at least 27 passengers plus 3 crew. The listing for this trip stated that the boats carried a maximum of 25 people and once aboard, I noticed a sign that stated the maximum occupancy of the boat was 26. Finally on the water, we left over 2 hours after the original meet time. From there, our stops were touristy packed beaches/bars where we were constantly hounded to buy drinks. Even the first stop which was snorkeling over Pablo Escobars plane had vendors on boats trying to sell food/drinks while we swam. The beaches and bars were packed, loud, and very dirty. Even the snorkel locations were full of other boats bringing tourists to swim. The whole experience felt like a Disney-esque sightseeing tour. The itinerary states that you have 3hrs at the last stop, Baru. This was the main reason we chose this tour compared to others as we wanted a nice beach to spend a good bit of time. Once we got to this stop, we were given lunch and were told to be back on the boat in only an hour. The entire trip seemed it was cut short because it took so long to get onto the water. The “beach” wasn’t even much of a beach and felt like more of the same, vendors selling things and no relaxation. There was barely enough sand to be considered a beach and rather a strip of land that boats could pull up to. Even if this trip was completely free I wouldn’t do it. Utter waste of a day and huge disappointment for our whole crew. Unfortunately I think many of these tour postings are the same company. Our boat acted as a taxi for others on the last island and made it apparent that plenty of these “companies” work together. I wish I would have taken photos as you can’t trust everything you see online. Do yourself a favor and avoid this trip.
