Let's take a boat trip to a private beach - it will be fun, they say! - I had read a number of reviews of day trips to similar resorts. I did not like what I read and tried to tell the family what to expect but no one listened. This is not a bad place but there is nothing there! Just a beach with lounges everywhere, vendors selling trinkets, waiters and a bar. The food was OK but I am not a fan of the cuisine and always looking for a cheeseburger. The beach was clean but really hot and sticky sand and saw no snorkeling. The worst part was the boat trip. Coming back, the wind had picked up and the seas got rough and the boat driver was going way too fast for the conditions. Thus, serval people were having problems, one with anxiety. Overall, there are beaches in town that are just as good and we all agreed that the day trip was not worth it.

BEWARE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! - The experience was an absolute nightmare. A nearly two hour bus ride packed with people in an old dilapidated bus. That's four hours round trip. Once on the bus, it costs another $18 to rent an umbrella for the 5 hours you're at the beach. The included lunch was ok at best. The beach was rocky and for the most part, not safe to swim. A small boat with about 40 snorkelers, jam packed, and NOT A SINGLE LIFE JACKET, A MAJOR SAFETY VIOLATION. The worst part is the bus to return left without us! We were never informed as to which bus to board, so we waited for the guide who pointed us in the direction of the parking lot with 10 or so busses. We were about 200 feet away from the bus when I saw the guide for the bus get on and the bus took off. She did not take a head count to ensure everyone was on the bus. I ran and caught up with the bus and knocked on the door. The driver opened it and let us in. We had to sit in the very back seat, cramped in like sardines. Overall, this was a horrible experience!

Baru... Overrated - The only thing "beautiful is the sea and the white sand"... the road to Baru is in poor condition, the arrival from the bus to the beach is a dirt road, passing through very dirty places, full of garbage and bad smells , the place where they rented us the chairs and umbrellas for 70,000 COP was packed with people, the chairs stuck together, in the sea the boats stop on top of the bathers, there is no room to enjoy the beach since the chairs The first row is practically in the sea... Anyway, in my opinion Baru is overrated... Plus everything is very expensive.
