- Plaza de la Proclamacion - You’ll be in the city’s heart to interact with the family. Here, the tour guide will explain the tour system and offer some recommendations.
- Centro Historico - The second stop is an ice cream shop where a family member will order food like a local, following the tour guide’s instructions.
- Plaza Santo Domingo - At this stop, we’ll use playdoh to replicate a famous sculpture called Gertrudis.
- Centro Historico - The next activity takes place on the well-known Santo Domingo street, where we’ll search for door knockers using binoculars. Each participant will take turns finding three different shapes in Cartagena.
- Centro Historico - At the city walls, participants will listen to a pirate story. The tour guide will also hand out stickers as temporary tattoos for kids.
- Torre del Reloj - At The Clock Tower, a superhero will be available for photos. Here, we’ll discuss the city’s founder.
- Barrio Getsemani - We’ll search for animals in Centennial Park using scooters.

Perfect to Keep Kids Engaged! - My 8 year old had been asking to go to Colombia since she was 5, and the price was right to make it happen! Being she is also in a SPIM program, I thought it would be a good opportunity for her as I have seen her use her Spanish in other places we have gone. I was anxious planning because I had never considered here before my daughter asked, even being a travel agent. I was super hyped when I found Keyla !
Having a teacher background and a tour dedicated to kids, I knew it would be a perfect fit !My daughter Avery had so much fun:
- Being an explorer and learning about the significance of the animal door knockers.
-Learning about Pirates and their history to the city
- Making her own sculpture after learning about why the "Reclining Woman"( La Gorda Gertrudis) by Fernado Botero.
-Ordering a popsicle in Colombian style
-Riding an electric scooter through the park to find monkeys and an sloth, and then through the art scene of Getsemani to taste some chocolate.😍
-Meeting a superhero
-Seeing hidden architecture
and asking all her questions!
I would highly recommend this tour for your little ones to keep them engaged!
