Must do when in Cartagena - Great islands, fun people, amazing guide (Giuseppe), good food, amazing beaches and crispy clear waters for a very fair price. 10/10 would recommend

New experiences, a little rushed, little explanations - The spots were nice and it was nice to explore new cities. The tour was completely in Spanish despite us asking for English, but thankfully we had two Spanish speakers so we had to translate. If you are looking for lots of details and explanation this is not the tour for you. Often times, I did feel rushed to take the pictures and leave, there wasn’t much explanation past a sentence or two. Still glad we got the tour just make sure you are aware of what you want before taking this tour.

Brief visit to Barranquilla but amazing historic tour of Santa Marta - The tour takes a complete day and you will ended it up exhausted. If is a 4h drive back to Cartagena once it ends. They provide you with a breakfast (arepa de huevo) in Barranquilla and simple basic lunch at a local humble hotel in Santa Marta. No food allergies are taken into consideration just be mindful of it. You get a brief visit to Barranquilla, where you can take photos with the city letters name and a couple of monuments. Once in Santa Marta we got an amazing tour and information about their historic city, photos at the city letter name and visit their museum. Finally they take you to the beach which unfortunately is not quite planned nor explained, basically, you get there and have around 2.5 hours on your own. The bus was comfortable and it had great AC on. On our way back we had issues with a flat tire which delayed the return for about 40 minutes. The guides were informative and fun. We got to meet many people from several countries which is always nice. If you only have one day, I would say to do it but if you want to know a little bit more about Barranquilla or stay longer in Santa Marta's beaches, you may need to look for another tour.

The tour only covers the basic picture sites of Barranquilla. And a quick tour of Santa Marta. Overall good for the pric - Good tour. Covers a lot for just one day. If you only have one day. This is enough. Just wish they have better busses and better lunch places.

Great tour for convenience - This tour picked us up early at our hotel at around 4:45am, not knowing much of the details of the transportation we find that it’s a large charter bus with about 50 other people joining the tour. We rode to get breakfast which was an arepa and small cup of coffee, tasted good. Then headed over to Barranquilla where we passed through to see the landmarks. We did not go inside the city and explore. Then we made it to Santa Marta and where we had another tour guide which whom was terrific, in Santa Marta we were taken to a hotel to get served lunch which was delicious! Then we had 2-3 hours of free time to do what we wanted to do in Santa Marta, the beach was nice. Souvenir shops all over the area, people are kind. We left at around 4:30pm and took a bathroom stop on our way back. We arrived back at our hotel at around 8pm Be mindful if you want to really go out and venture on your own time that this tour may not be the best fit for you. All the locals in Cartagena mentioned that the best places to visit are outside of Santa Marta.

Too much time wasted to put a tick on the list of things to see - They picked me up from the hotel at 3:55 in the morning, we arrived back at 8:15 p.m., that is, more than 16 hours of travel. It took them more than an hour to pick up all the passengers and leave Cartagena. The lucky ones staying in the north were the last to pick up and the first to drop off. The tour is quite superficial: In Barranquilla we stopped at 4 points, in each one we spent 20-30 minutes just so that each passenger could take their photo. The guide's explanations are limited, his English sometimes difficult to follow. Luckily in Santa Marta we had a local guide who gave us a 1 hour walking tour (20 minutes in the museum which is free), but the guide had to interpret because the girl didn't speak English. We had an hour and a half to go to the beach or stay at the pool right at the hottest time (after lunch). The food could be improved: Breakfast is a homemade ham and cheese sandwich. The hotel where they serve lunch needs better presentation and cleanliness. The transportation is also not of supreme quality.

Very Disapointed- we were robbed! - E-TRIPS/VIATOR CONTACT RE ROBBERY We had our tour on Friday March 29, 2024. WE WERE VERY DISAPOINTED AND WE WANT TO REPORT A ROBBERY !!!!!!! This is very serious. We were picked up by the tour bus at 4:30 am. As we had our suitcases with us (we were staying in Santa Marta, not returning to Cartagena), they placed the suitcases in the LOCKED luggage compartment. They told us MANY TIMES: This is SECURE, only the DRIVER has the key. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE BELIEVED THEM. THEY HAVE A THIEF WORKING FOR THEIR COMPANY. After lunch, we took our suitcases and went directly to our hotel, where we found that our iPADs had been STOLEN FROM THE SUITCASE. I contacted the guide IMMEDIATELY, sending her a picture from my tracking device, showing that the iPADs were STILL IN THE BUS WHERE IT WAS PARKED (about 10 km from our hotel). She only answered 1 hour later when the bus was on its way back to Cartagena. Over the next 3 hours I sent her MULTIPLE SCREENSHOTS showing her that the iPADs were STILL WITH THE BUS!!!!! I tracked them all the way back to Cartagena. The guide did check the storage compartment and said the iPADs were not there. THIS WAS POINTLESS, SINCE CLEARLY THEY DID NOT FALL OUT OF THE SUITCASE, THEY WERE TAKEN OUT BY SOMEONE WHO HAD ACCESS!!!! And they put them in THEIR pocket/bag. According to the guide, only the DRIVER had keys to the compartment. So it is one of them who took the iPADs!!! I contacted the tour company eTrips REPORTING THE ROBBERY. ALTHOUGH THEY RESPONDED TO MY EMAIL RAPIDLY, THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING SINCE, IN SPITE OF ME CONTACTING THEM REPEATEDLY. THEY COULD AT LEAST HAVE OFFERRED TO REFUND OUR TOUR PAYMENT! But they have done nothing! After three weeks of waiting, we have decided to post a review. I CANNOT STRESS HOW DISAPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED WE ARE. THIS IS NO WAY FOR VISITORS TO THE COUNTRY TO BE TREATED.

I don't recommend it, bad experience - The truth is I didn't like it at all, the bus was old and very bad, the air conditioning couldn't be regulated (the ducts were broken), either very cold or very hot and the seats rang every time we went over a pothole, we waited for some passengers in the road for an hour and no one told us anything, the tour through Barranquilla is done running and lunch in Santa Marta is like in a school casino, and the pool... not to mention, very small for the amount of people.
