Awesome Trip - I liked my tour guide. She was very informative and pleasant. The mud bath and the tour of the Indians and pink salt beach was epic.

Fun experience! - The mud volcano was such a fun experience!! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy a new experience. I would also suggest bringing extra cash to pay people individually for massage, pictures, and cleaning at the end. Also this tour does NOT include the pink sea tour. They take you to another beach so take note. I told the tour guide they need to update the description to this activity online.

Fun and different - Not sure what to say about this experience as in ways it exceeded my expectations and others failed to live up to them. Overall a very different experience. The massage in the mud was surprisingly relaxing and the wash off in the lake was a little uncomfortable but overall I would definitely recommend folks to give it a try. Lunch (I had the fish) was AMAZING and worth the price of admission.

Ehhh - I originally paid the $40 for the tour. I got theee and I had to pay an additional $20 for entry and there was no actual “ lunch “ included. Neither was there any pink sea. It was overall cool to do being in the mud etc. but I wouldn’t do it again or recommend. It’s giving scam.

Need to improve guidance - If you are one of those travelers that are “fancy,” then this is not the tour for you. It's an older bus, but it gets you to your destination. It has AC which is what we mostly care for. Mary was our tour guide, and she did a good job of keeping the group together and on time. There was some mixup with our pick-up. We were initially told between 8 to 8:15 am. I contacted the company at 8:50 because we had not been picked up yet. They quickly responded that there was a mixup, and they sent someone within 5 -10 min to pick us up and take us to meet the bus. I had been in constant contact with the company prior, so I believe this was a driver mixup. Nevertheless, they were quick to resolve. The volcano experience it’s very unique and exciting. The staff at the volcano were good at keeping everyone on track and informed. They were courteous and attentive. Negative: before going to the volcano, I asked Mary how the tip system would work since we weren’t allowed to hold our phones, and we only had our bathtub suite on (nowhere to keep the money). Mary stated that it would be at the end where we would put the tip in one place. I asked if they take care of splitting, and she said yes. Well, well! When it came time to tip at Tolumo (volcano), we were corned by Mary (tour guide) and one of the locals expecting a tip. Since We were not told to whom and how much to tip just at the need, we assumed the person that turned in our phones at the end of the tour was the one collecting the tips. Well, we tipped him, and then came Mary, with one other local, said, “You place your tip here” We told them we already gave a tip to the “phone guy,” who was standing right next to us, keeping quiet. Everything turned into them cornering the guy and us until he gave them a tip. Cornering means Mary and the other person blocking the only exit. Then Mary asked how much we tipped and proceeded to ask what we had gotten done. Insinuating that we had not tipped enough. This is all happening while they are standing on the only exit. We felt very uncomfortable. I suggest before everyone gets off, the tour guide should tell us who will be collecting the tips and give us suggestions on how much we should tip. Because after we gave the tip the info cual staff that provided service came demanding their individual tip. In the end, they were trying to get into the bus, cornering the people trying to get into the bus, arguing with the people, and Mary was allowing everything to happen. The driver was nice enough to close the door. For example, I didn’t get a massage or use the showers. My sister did, so why should we tip the same? There should be some sort of scale. We had already given a very good tip because we thought, based on what we were told, all was going to be collected at the end by one person. We did not feel like we should have to tip again because we were being intimidated. I add this to the review because, unfortunately, Mary, the tour guide, participated in cornering us, and she was the one asking how much we tipped and what we had done. She should have been the one to explain the system better. She should have told us we have to tip individually. So the whole system was very unorganized and felt unsafe. Which at the end it ruined the entire experience.

It would've been good...but... - The Tour operator DID NOT pick us up on time. We waited 45 minutes past the original pick up time & left. They never contacted us or anything to give us updates. Our flight left on the same day so we weren't able to rebook. Punctuality, respect & communication is key. We contacted Viator to get a REFUND.
