The pink sea, located in Galerazamba village of the department BolÃvar, forms an integral part of the Santa Catalina municipality. With an impressive history, the salt flats of this region captivate everyone’s attention since they are the source of the vibrantly colored pink sea. The unique pink coloration of the sea, which is a natural spectacle, varies with the season, peaking between December and April. As of now, due to the public health situation, the spot is closed for visitation, thus our trip leads to Galerazamba where we will explore:

Having fun getting dirty ! - The mud massages were great ! So was the help from the ladies who helped wash us off . We celebrated my friends birthday and it was a great experience ! Would love to come again !

Everything was magical I want to live the experience again - I want to go again, I loved a magical place, the volcano the best, a variety of food and the spectacular hotel and its very friendly people

Great Mud Experience - The adventure was enjoyable, and my friends and I had a great time in the mud bath—it was truly a unique experience. However, we felt overwhelmed by the local mud workers constantly asking for tips. We were also disappointed with the Pink Sea tour, as the sea wasn't pink. The tour guide explained it was due to the rainy season.

Great active arventure - I loved learning about the history of the town. The salt etc…
However! This is a very physical tour, if you have issues going up high/ long stairs. This is not for you!

Good experience - It was a great experience and the best part was the mud volcano. The journey there was long so a better transportation was needed. The ride was uncomfortable and the tour offered air conditioned transportation but there was hardly any. The vehicle was old and dirty. But it was an or journey. The guide spoke English so that was good. Overall it was a good experience.

Tour with very precarious infrastructure - The infrastructure of the mud site is super simple, precarious, and I would say even disgusting. clogged and fucking bathrooms, dirty tubs, non-functioning showers. That's not to mention that everything is charged, and there's a rush for a fee, from the man who stays massaging you mud to the lady who throws you water to clean you in the lake and the guy who takes pictures.
The tour itself, which includes the salina in the pink lake and the vulcano with mud is poorly developed, Guide speaks little (and is difficult for the foreigner to understand because Spanish is very fast and English is rolled). All that is a treasure but presented in a very simple way and without giving due value.
Tips: toilet stops in clean places, help natives develop the infrastructure of the site

This was an overall BAD experience. - The guide did not speak English, as promised. We only went to the volcano and none of the other stops ( salt flats, museum). The operator told Viator it was due to the weather.
It was raining at the beginning of the day, but certainly not storming. When we left the volcano, it was not raining. The tour guide did not speak English, as promised, so nothing was explained to us. As a matter of fact, he left us on the vehicle with just the driver, who also did not speak English. The driver proceeded to try to drop us off at the wrong location for our hotel; near, but not at our hotel where they picked us up. The transport vehicle was old and noisy.
Also, be prepared to tip at least five people for the volcano experience (the driver, the guide, the persons volunteering to take your photos, give you a massage in the mud and the ladies who wash you off in the rive)r. They do this for tips, which I understand, but it seems they were demanding more than what some people were giving.
This was an overall BAD experience.

Waste of Time… Falsely Advertised… Pick Another Tour.. Not This One… - This tour was an uneventful waste of time and $$. The tour company did not confirm pickup until an hour before my pickup time and then went to the wrong hotel.
I can’t recommend this tour.
They advertise you will see the pink sea, but I was told when we arrived that it’s only pink from December to April. No pink sea! Also, the van couldn’t drive down the road (poor road conditions) to the pink (not pink) sea, so we all had to get out and walk 300 yards in the heat to see nothing. Uneventful!
Then, you only spend 30 minutes at the mud volcano after a two hour van ride one way. Uneventful, after such a long cramped van ride.
The tour company needs to improve. I did not receive a message from the tour company until 7 am the morning of the tour. Then they went to the wrong hotel to pick me up. They could have contacted me before the morning of the tour to verify my pickup location, but did not. I had to wait over 45 minutes for pickup.
Weird: On our way in the van, our guide told us that the lunch was included and to write down our lunch preferences on her clipboard. Later I was asked why I wrote down my fish preference for lunch. I was then told that my lunch wasn’t included and I would be taken back to my hotel in a separate car, while everyone else went to the restaurant to eat lunch. WTF!
Returning in the car, the driver dropped me off at a different place, not my hotel. I was so tired of the blotched tour and all the problems this day that I just said OK and walked to my hotel from where he dropped me off.
