Highlights
  • Carthage Aqueduct - The trip begins in Carthage at the world’s largest excavated Water Cisterns, following the water route of The Aqueduct. It passes by Tuburbo Majus, an Afro-Roman site, and reaches the Temple of Water at Mount Zaghouan.
  • Uthina (Oudhna) - We explore a fascinating site established by Legion 13 of the Roman Army. It features several ruins on a hill that offer a stunning panorama of Tunisia’s rural landscape. Highlights include a Roman Colosseum that can host 16,000 people, Roman villas adorned with mosaics, Capitol Magno, and Roman baths.
  • The Water Temple - Its location is as impressive today as it was in the 2nd century CE. The 1,295-meter-high Zaghouan Mountain rises above it, and fields stretch out in front. On a clear day, you can almost see the Mediterranean Sea. The decoration resembles that of a temple, with 12 niches each containing a life-size statue representing the 12 months of the year. In the center, there was once a temple, of which only the central niche remains.
