• Carvalho Beach - We start at the serene and secluded Carvalho Beach with a safety briefing and instructions. To access the beach, we descend through an ancient carved tunnel in the rock. Here, we can admire the rock tower off Carvalho’s waters and its curving limestone walls.
• Praia de Benagil - After leaving Carvalho, we visit some hidden caves along the way, eventually reaching the bustling Benagil Beach, where we can observe the village’s historic fishing past.
• Benagil Cave - Just after Benagil Beach, we arrive at the famous Benagil Cave. We’ll stop to take stunning photos of the renowned “sinkhole” and learn about the historical, geological, and ecological significance of the Algarve region. After the guide’s explanations, you can explore the cave on your own or follow the guide to discover some hidden fossils. After about 30 minutes, we continue our adventure, exiting the cave with the guide’s assistance.
• Praia da Marinha - After leaving Benagil Cave, we paddle towards Marinha Beach, visiting more hidden caves and sinkholes along the way. Upon reaching Marinha Beach, we pass beneath the famous Arches of Marinha and stop for fantastic photos. Then, we paddle back towards Carvalho Beach.
• Leixão do Ladrão - If time permits and depending on the group, we visit the “Island of the Smuggler.” Here, we enter a massive tunnel inside this rock formation and observe two beautiful holes in the ceiling, known as “the blue eyes.” Photos will be taken.
• Farol de Alfanzina/Alfanzina Lighthouse - After exiting the tunnel of the “Island of the Smuggler,” we can admire the lighthouse in all its glory. We then head back to the beach, which is just five minutes away from this point. Photos will be taken.
