High Atlas Mountains - We will pick you up at a meeting point in Casablanca and drive along the highway, passing through Marrakech. Our journey will take us across Morocco’s highest road pass, Tizi-n-Tichka, at an elevation of 2260 meters. After lunch, we will head to Telouet Kasbah, a fortress on the former caravan route from the Sahara through the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. This kasbah, situated at an altitude of 1800 meters, held a strategic position in the High Atlas. The palace’s occupants benefited from being on the caravan route and near significant salt mines. We will then travel along the salt river to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for numerous movies such as Sodom and Gomorrah, The Mummy, and Prince of Persia. We will spend the night in a traditional Berber architecture riad, with local cuisine included for dinner.
ait benhaddou - merzouga
Sahara Desert Morocco - After breakfast, we will explore the Kasbah on foot for an hour before driving to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco, which translates to “Quiet City” in Berber. We will stop for photos at the Studio and Taourirt Kasbah, then continue along the road of a thousand kasbahs to reach the Roses Valley (best visited between April 14 and June 5). After a photo break overlooking the valley, we will proceed to the Todgha Valley, a series of limestone river canyons in the eastern High Atlas Mountains. Following lunch, we will drive to Erg Chebbi in the Sahara Desert, near Merzouga. Along the way, we will pass through Berber villages such as Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud, where we will encounter the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. Upon arrival in Merzouga, we will relax briefly before embarking on a camel ride adventure in the sand dunes to watch the sunset. Dinner will be a traditional Berber meal enjoyed around a campfire, and we will spend the night in a luxury camp with drumming music in the heart of the Sahara. This is an excellent opportunity to capture beautiful sunset and sunrise photos and enjoy a night under the stars with nomadic music around the fire.
merzouga - ouarzazate
Musee Theatre Memoire de Ouarzazate - In the morning, we will have a “date with the sunrise.” Waking up early in the desert is essential to witness the most spectacular sunrise from the top of a dune near the camp. After breakfast, we will ride camels back to Agdez via the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river. Following lunch in a traditional kasbah, we will drive to Ouarzazate, also known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” This city, whose name means “Quiet City” in Berber, is a renowned film-making location with Morocco’s largest studios, where many movies have been filmed.
ouarzazate - casablanca
Jemaa el-Fnaa - After breakfast, we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech for lunch and a visit to the old medina. We will then continue to Casablanca, where our journey will conclude.
