Our tour will continue to the Tanneries, one of Fez’s most iconic sights, where you can witness the traditional process of producing high-quality leather that has remained unchanged since medieval times.
At the end of the tour, our guide will escort you back to your Riad in Fes.
Fes – Ifrane – Azrou forest – Medelt – Errachidia – Ziz Oasis – Merzouga desert:
Merzouga Desert - Early in the morning, we’ll meet you at your Riad and set off for the Merzouga Desert. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its clean, modern, and well-ordered appearance. A few kilometers from the city is the cedar tree forest of Azrou, home to the Barbary apes, a type of Macaque. We’ll take some time to observe these fascinating creatures before we hit the road again.
Our next stop is Midelt, the “country of apples,” where we’ll have lunch before heading towards the Atlas Mountains, following the Ziz Valley. We’ll arrive at the city of Er-Rachidia, which is the gateway to the desert.
We’ll continue driving through the Ziz Oasis, filled with palm groves and Berber villages along the way, until we reach Erfoud. This city is famous for its fossils and dates.
We will arrive our hotel in the dune line and then start your camel ride adventure to our camp over the dunes, where we’ll enjoy a traditional local music performance around the fire.
Merzouga desert – Rissani – Arfoud – Tinjdad – Tinghir – Todgha Gorges – Boumaln Dades Gorges.
Dades Gorges - Begin your day with a sunrise hike to the tallest nearby dune in the desert and follow it up with a shower and breakfast at the desert camp before departing.
Our first stop will be in the historic town of Rissani, once one of Morocco’s earliest trading posts for gold and slaves. Today, it is a bustling commercial center and local markets. Take a stroll through the souks and experience the authentic local way of life in this small city.
From there, continue your journey to Tinghir, a former trading hub for caravans, where you will visit the breathtaking Todgha Gorges, a 300-meter deep canyon formed by limestone rock formations and water from the roots of the Atlas Mountains.
Next, drive through the road of thousands of Kasbahs and reach the scenic countryside of Dades, known as the “country of figs.” Admire the dramatic landscapes of the Dades valley as you drive through.
