Highlights
  • Rick’s Café - After meeting with your guide you’ll wander over to the famous Rick’s Café, which you may have heard of from a little movie called Casablanca. We won’t go inside, but you’ll want to note where it is for a return visit later on in your own time, we’re sure! Nearby, you’ll spot the Sqala tower, with canons dating back to the Portuguese era and a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Old Medina of Casablanca - Walkthrough alleyways to reach the medina, where you can browse alongside locals going about their day-to-day business, shopping for groceries, clothing and anything and everything else.
  • Mahkama Du Pacha - Mahkama du Pacha where maybe you’ll meet the king! (Okay, probably not.) Travellers cannot visit the court of Pacha without a guide by their side, so this is your chance to see something very special.
  • Quartier Habous - the Habous quarter, also known as the new medina, where you can shop for Moroccan goods such as traditional clothing, leather, jewellery and food. The medina was built in the 1930s by the French, so it is no surprise that it features a wonderful mix of French and Moroccan-inspired architecture, complete with numerous things to see and do and taste.
  • Pâtisserie Bennis Habous - We’ll visit a local bakery where locals take their bread and pastries to be baked, one of the most famous pastry houses in town. (#localsknow tip: all the treats at Bennis are delicious, but we recommend the chicken pastilla, which is heavenly good!)

Great introduction to Casablanca with a very knowledgeable local guide. - I met my guide, Mohammed, on my first full day in Casablanca as I thought it would help me on my orientation of a new city. The walking & car tour worked out better than I expected and I learnt so much about Casablanca and life generally in Morocco. We made a number of welcome stops en route and I enjoyed the best mint tea I’ve ever had. We visited different areas of the city including an excellent museum which provided details of the history of Casablanca through well presented interpretation boards and photographs. Mohammed stopped at a number of locations from where I could take photos including the medina, market and the mosque. All in all, it was a perfect way to spend four hours.

Accommodating owners - Five stars for caring. I did not make the tour due to illness, so they called to check and offered the next day. Very nice gesture. I was leaving so I still did not make it, but it was the idea for me

Amazing!!! And the best customer service! - The tour with Aafif was amazing. He was on time and greeted us like old friends. His knowledge of the city and enthusiasm to share it with us was evident as he took us through the medinas pointing out interesting locations and facts. The tour was a fantastic orientation of the city and a great introduction to Morocco. The markets were interesting and the bakery and mint tea were a nice touch to end the tour. We ended with being dropped off at the Marina shopping complex where my friend discovered she had left her phone in the taxi by accident. After emailing the Casablanca urban adventures email they were able to get her phone and hand deliver it to our hotel. Hicham was absolutely wonderful getting her phone back to her. We are so grateful for his wonderful customer service as well as Aafif’s while on the tour. 10/10 and would recommend to everyone!

More than a morning in Casablanca - Most informative walking ( & car transfers) around the old Medina and Quartier Habous. Four hours turned into six with delicious and reasonably priced lunch at a restaurant recommended by Mohammed. Drop off at our hotels was complimentary.

A lovely educational experience - Mohammed our guide was kind enough to wait for us as we got lost getting to the meeting point! He was a fount of knowledge regarding most anything I asked him about - we learned about not only the history of Morocco and Casablanca, but also about its economy, government, geography and cuisine. We had an enjoyable 4 hours with him in the old city, with walks and drives. We hit all the places on the itinerary. On his recommendation, we went to El Baladia for lunch after the tour - easily one of the best authentic meals we’ve had anywhere. We chose our meat which was then grilled right next door and enjoyed with fresh Qubs bread, simple tomato onion salad and washed down with mint green tea!

A good walk and history through Old Casablanca! - My tour guide, Hicham, was a great historian and photographer 😊. You could he was extremely knowledgeable and could easily be a professor on Casablanca history. We had a good walk and viewed more places than listed. There were enough quick taxi cab rides to break up the walking but as much as we walked it didn’t feel tiring at all. He even helped me visit the Mosque with great ease after our tour. The Moroccan tea, box of pastries, and tajin lunch was amazing too! We toured so much of Old Casablanca with the historical sites and markets, but the only thing I would hope for is to visit during a time when more shops were open... but at least I knew where to return. I think he wanted us to ask more questions so don’t be afraid to ask because he never turns the inquiries down.
