VIÑA DEL MAR-VALPARAÍSO (COUPLE) - The guide Piero is attentive to everyone, always smiling and knows everything about the place, which in our case was Viña del Mar and Valparaíso, as well as all the Chilean culture. We highly recommend Lucero in Chile and look for Piero to help on the trip.

Piero Jjangjjang - Guide Piero speaks English really well!👍 He explained it alternately once in English and once in Spanish. He guided me well without any accidents and he was handsome!!!

Full day in Valparaiso was excellent. - Best features were the walking tour through the narrow streets and paths between colourful painted houses. So much to see. Our guide was Tiare, and she was a very knowledgable and friendly young woman with excellent English. The stop at Casablanca could be missed (except as an toilet break).

Valparaiso & Viña del Mar by Lucera Travel - I have to admit that I was sceptical about the tour following bad reviews I found on other similar tours. The driver was on time for pickup, the van very comfortable and the tour started on time. My guide Sifia was great. She explained in details the tours to all participants and she was knowledgeable and available to answer all questions. She made the tour interactive and interesting. I highly recomment Sofia, the great driver and Lucero Travel. If I had another opportunity, I will definitely book another tour with Lucera Travel

Excellent tour - Pauly our tour guide did a fantastic job showing us around Valparaiso and Vina del Mar! She made sure we were comfortable by offering bathroom breaks, a great mix of independent time and guided walking. The restaurant we ate at for lunch was on the coast and had great seafood. Robinson was our driver and he transported us everywhere safely. Highly recommend. Communication leading up to the trip could’ve been better as I had to ask several times for the pick up time the morning of. But once I made contact, everything else went smoothly and the bus picked us up promptly.

Nice day tour from Santiago - Cristina is very knowledgable and fun and makes the tour very interactive. Valparaiso is an edgy and artistic city which is a must visit. Vina Del Mar was a bit disappointing and there isn’t really much to do there. Casablanca Valley is beautiful and could be made a stop on this tour, it would be a nice addition. The highway cafe they stop at in the morning is not really nice for a representation of the valley. Overall, a good experience

Colourful day out w Claudia in Valparaiso - We had a great day with Claudia who was very cheerful, fun and knowledgeable. Our favourite part of the trip was Valparaiso with a wonderful surprise around every corner. If there was one improvement we would suggest about the trip is to be able to spend more time in Valparaiso and perhaps have had lunch at a local restaurant there to help the local community eg Cafe Turri. Thank you for a great day out, Claudia - we had a lot of fun. Fiona & Rhona

Our recommendation: Find another solution to go to Valparaiso and Viña del Mar - We (couple in our 20s) had read that Valparaiso could be dangerous, so we chose to go with Lucero Travel even though we had been told by a friend that the tour was very basic and maybe not even worth it. The tour was 11 hours: - 30 minutes at wine-place … a cafeteria where they try to sell you everything (clothes, football shirts, wine, food) - Combined 1,5 hours of walking around in Valparaiso and Viña del Mar - 2 hours at expensive restaurant, which we chose not to eat at … but located far enough from everything else that you either eat there or don’t eat anywhere (We knew this and packed a lunch box) - 7 hours in bus … whereas one was used to drive around from 7am - 8am in the morning to pick others up. Suggestion: If you go on the tour, ask for the last pick-up place and then just Uber there. We missed out on the delicious breakfast at our hotel because we were picked up as the first ones. Moreover, we had read here on Tripadvisor that Sofia was a good guide, so when the company told us that she would be our guide, we were happy and booked the trip. This was a complete lie. We had a Spanish guide (Bruno), who was an awesome and happy guy - luckily we understood a bit Spanish, because his English-speaking counterpart was the opposite. It was obvious that she didn’t want to be there, and she simply just translated what Bruno said in short sentences. Honestly, Bruno could just have used Google Translate and a microphone - would have given the same result. Sorry! All in all - it is a very basic tour. They drive you to Valparaiso and Viña del Mar, and you get (very shortly) to see and experience what the two cities have to offer. We weren’t very dissapointed, because we sort of expected this. But just don’t have very high expectations - then maybe it will be OK! Just not more than that.

Wasted a day with these folks.... poor vehicles and terrible contingency planning... Buyer Beware... - I booked this tour at the recommendation of my hotel (at a slight discount to the listed price) because I wanted to photograph the street art in Valpo, but met a couple recently robbed (at gunpoint) in Valpo and felt safer going with a group. This was the largest group our guide had, so we had a bus (nstead of a van) It was a total waste of a day. It was so crazy from the start, that I started keeping track of time as HOURS ticked by so I could write this accurately. Let me run through the day: First, they came (on time) at 650am to pick us up. . I expected we'd have to pick up others but we LITERALLY spent 90 minutes riding around Santiago picking up 4 other groups. I would have preferred to Uber to the last pickup spot and sleep in a bit longer. At 820, we finally hit the road to Valparaiso. It was odd, but at multiple spots going uphill on the highway, the bus was only going 10-20kph... hmmm We finally got to the "wine stop", which was basically a small cafeteria that had about 8-10 wines to taste. The "breakfast" they sold was fine, but this stop is when trouble really started. I should have noticed the bus wasn't well maintained b the TWO different windshield cracks and the peeling logos on the side. I noticed the duct tape and WD40 on the dashboard, but didn't think much of it. Our 30 stop became 45 mins. I knew something was wrong when the driver came to get the WD 40 and duct tape while working under the hood in the back. At 1015 we finally left. When he got on, gave me two sets of crossed fingers (I was in the front seat) and started the bus. He sighed in relief and we left. 1020 - 2 mins into our ride, we turn around and go back to the rest stop. We're told the bus is broken and they're sending another one. 1159 - the 'repair CAR' shows up, and the driver starts talking with our bus driver. They didn't send another bus! They sent an advisor. 1213 - We leave again, in the same bus, after more duct tape was used 1224 - we start crawling again on the highway at 20kph (max) 1226 - we pull over to the side of the road again, then start rolling at 1228 1257 - we cross into Valpo 1315 - we get to the lunch "castle". It's very overstated. It's like a stone house. the food in fine (3/5 on Yelp) but a bit pricey. At least it came out fast. 1415 - WE're done with lunch but told to "wait for the new bus" that's coming for us (note: this is the 2nd time we're told this) 1442 - We get back on the original bus, with no other bus in sight 1515 - After driving in a big circle, we park randomly alongside the road... and wait 1521 - there is a group of tourists that need to make a boat, but we have no cell signal so they're unable to pay... yet, we sit 1530 - we still haven't moved, but eventually, they get off the bus (nowhere near their boat) 1556 - We go "to the beach" 1603 - we randomly stop alongside a gas station again. 1620 - A new van finally sows up, nearly 6 hours after they said one was coming. It also has a cracked windshield. 1648 - We finally get off the bus in Valparaiso at Sotomayor Plaza - it's got a random market happening. We aren't told anything, including a time to get back to the bus. I left my hotel at 650am... it's 90mins away. I arrived nearly 10 hours after the picked me up. 1654 - We are back on the bus, and eventually our "guide" arrives and we go to the flower clock 1710 - we get to the flower clock 1717 - we leave the flower clock 1720 - We get stuck leaving bc the guide forgot the 3 seniors and was leaving them behind! Luckily 2 other passenger stop her 1740 - We arrive at the beach for a 20 min "walk" (it's chilly, gray, and this is crazy) 1806 - We start the ride home (late again) 1945 - We get back to the hotel (1st stop to get off) --- almost 2 hours late. Suggestions for the company: 1. Maintain your vehicles. 2. If we have to wait, park somewhere cool so we can get out and walk a bit, maybe actually DO the tour. Parking 300m from the sights, then rushing through them hours later is just dumb. 3. If you're sending a vehicle, really send on. we were not 6 hours away 4. COMMUNICATE - there was barely any news of updates (or any apology) the whole day unless we asked directly. That's junk. This was a total waste. the only reason it's not 1 star is bc I said I wasn't paying for being kidnapped and they said "ok". I was willing to pay half, but in the end, we just parted ways... We spent roughly 6 mins in one square in Valparaiso. What a joke.. This was a 13 hours wasted day in the bus...

Untrained driver with no control of the van on a freeway with 16 passengers inside - What they did with our group yesterday was unacceptable. Our driver had never driven a van before, she had no control over the vehicle, and was responsible for driving 15 adults and a child all the way to Valparaiso - this is insane. She could not drive a manual van, the car turned off due to lack of control over 10 times, one of them going up hill on the route 86, which is a 120 km/h freeway. I'll repeat: the car was turned off on the truck lane in the middle of a freeway. One of the passengers had to teach her to go down gears when going up hill because SHE DID NOT KNOW THAT!!!! She also nearly (nearly!!!) hit 2 cyclists when turning a corner that was green to them!! I'm fully aware that she is not the problem, she can learn to become a good driver and be responsible for a full van. The problem is the business that thinks it's acceptable to put an untrained driver to be responsible for 16 lives. This is shocking.
