Monastero di Santa Rita da Cascia - The Basilica of Santa Rita da Cascia is a minor basilica of Cascia, belonging to the homonymous sanctuary. The mortal remains of Saint Rita are venerated inside.
Rita from Cascia, born Margherita Lotti (Roccaporena, 1381 - Cascia, 22 May 1457), was an Italian nun of the eremitan monastery of Santa Maria Maddalena, beatified by Pope Urban VIII in 1628 and proclaimed Saint by Pope Leo XIII in 1900.)
In the first decades of the twentieth century, the steady increase in pilgrims visiting the reliquary with the remains of Saint Rita made the old church unsuitable for hosting such a large number of people. This was how Mother Maria Teresa Fasce, today blessed, abbess of the nearby monastery of Santa Rita da Cascia where Saint Rita had lived for more than forty years, promoted the construction of a new church suited to the needs of the faithful.

Unforgettable experience - We had a very memorable day visiting St Rita and having Alessandro as our guide made the day easy and comfortable. He went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything we had hoped for and it truly was an unforgettable experience. He was knowledgeable and very helpful. The day itself was a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend a day out visiting St Rita with Alessandro.

This tour is recommended for any visitor to Rome - We attended mass at the Basilica. It was fulfilling spiritually. Every part of the tour was memorable. Alessandro of Rome -Limousines was very good, punctual and courteous. He explained many aspects of the tour to us.

Very kind, knowledgeable, and patient - He was great. Very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. He took us to Spoleto and Santa Rita and recommended a wonderful place for lunch. Definitely will do again next time we’re here in Rome!

Sancta Rita - Super smooth Ride - Alexandrou was on time at the hotel, even a bit earlier!
He was so friendly and had the answers to all our questions about Santa Rita !
He reserved for us a very cosy place to have lunch and the drive was smooth!
I highly recommend going with Alex and i will surely contact him for our next trip!
