For the first time in almost ninety years, the observatories’ domes are accessible to the public. Explore the “major dome,” featuring an 8.5-meter diameter and a Visual Telescope for observing stars and planets, as well as the “minor dome,” which has an 8-meter diameter and a Double Astrograph for celestial photography and star mapping.
Visitors can ascend a spiral staircase to the third floor of the Papal Palace, where they will be greeted with stunning views of Lake Albano from the panoramic terrace.
