• Roccia dell’Elefante - The Elephant Rock is a fascinating rock formation situated near Castelsardo, Sardinia. This natural monument, shaped by wind and rain erosion, resembles a seated elephant with a distinct trunk. The volcanic rock stands about 4 meters high and contains small domus de janas, ancient prehistoric tombs carved into the rock. It is one of the most renowned attractions in the area, set against a picturesque Mediterranean backdrop.
• Nuraghe Paddaggiu - The Nuraghe Paddaggiu, meaning ‘haystack’ in Sardinian, is a significant archaeological site located along the road from Castelsardo to Valledoria, near the Roccia dell’Elefante. This nuraghe is one of the most important discoveries in the area, dating back to the Nuragic period, a civilization that thrived in Sardinia from the Bronze Age until the 2nd century B.C., during the height of the Roman era.

The nuraghe was constructed on a hill, as was customary to gain a strategic view of the surrounding territory. Originally, the complex featured a main tower with the typical ‘tholos’ roof, a bastion with two lateral towers, and a strong surrounding wall that enclosed the village of stone huts topped with thatched roofs.
