Great people / great dive - We had a great time. The people we dove with were from a remote part of northern canida and shared about their life. It was great to learn about them and talk about life’s differences. The dive was great. The dive instructor is very knowledgeable and has been diving for 13 years. He does commercial diving as well as research dives for the government. Be mentally prepared to swim in off the shore. It will be a bit murky at first but when you get about 50 feet out it clears up and is beautiful

Epic Dives at Mountain base - Gorgeous dives and great dive master! We saw tons of sea life including lobster, octopus, eels and amazing tropical fish. We were surrounded by the most beautiful scenery and dovevat the base of gorgeous mountains. Epic experience.

Best excursion - The patience from the instructor was wonderful. My wife’s first time and he was great with her. The dive lasted a fairly long time. Good deal overall

Excellent excursion, beautiful island and reef, solid dive master! - We were picked up a few minutes late. A large family group of snorkelers was also on our dive boat. The family was very grumpy about the late pickup, being divided between two vans, and spent much of the time complaining about the need to return on time to the ship. I suspect they are the source of the negative review below. In our experience the driver, Elvis, was very skilled and charming. The boat was captained by owner and divemaster Andre St. Omer. I have been a certified diver for nearly 40 years, but signed up for a discover scuba excursion with my wife who is new to the sport with only a few similar courses under her weight belt. After sailing us to the dive site, Andre provided a basic orientation on the boat while the snorkelers took to the water. Andre then went through a quick but comprehensive basic skills, safety procedures, and hand signals just off the beach in chest height water. Once everyone had mastered the basics, we went on a very nice shallow dive (roughly 25 feet) along a clear and active reef. Andre pointed out fish, eels, and coral along the way while keeping a close eye on the divers. At one point, two of the six divers headed back in with one of the dive masters as one was having trouble with equalization. After our dive, we were able to join the snorkelers and see additional parts of the reef. The water was clear, and the scenery was breathtaking. The equipment was in good condition and modern. Back on the boat, Andre and his team provided an unexpected but delicious lunch of chicken, rice, beans, and mac and cheese. We and the snorkelers were offered the chance to snorkel at a second site, but the leader of our unhappy companions was adamant about heading back to the ship. Andre assured us we had ample time to visit the second site and snorkel. He even put it to a vote. We did not want to fight with the other guests, but I believe Andre was right. So, my advice is to try to go on a dive trip that is limited to divers who agree up front to the agenda and timetable. I recommend DIve Fair Helen and Captain Andre and would like to return for some longer open water dives.

Amazing Scuba - We are new to scuba but have dove at a few locations. This location is by far the best, it was like swimming through a Nat Geo movie with millions of fish and coral surrounding us. Pickup was a little disorganized and my wife felt ill from the boat exhaust, but the diving and the crew were awesome.

A disorganized dive - The dive itself was great. Saw wonderful reefs, however, the whole operation is so disorganized. The dive instructor took the people out who dived before out first and spent a lot of time with us on the padi drills but then spent no time with our friend who has never dived and blew through the padi drills at superspeed with another person. We were also on the boat with all the snorkelers who took precedent on the excursion. The lunch provided was good and the dive was again wonderful but I probably wouldn’t do it again here.

Bad beginners dive experience - We initially booked the snorkeling, but added the beginners dive on a couple days before the excursion. The transfer from the hotel was long, there was no air-conditioning in the minibus so we had the windows open, but this doesn't help when your stuck in traffic. The driver Elvis however was very nice and we felt safe on the crazy roads. When we got to the boat, it seemed crowded, not enough seats for everyone mainly due to the diving equipment taking up a lot of space. I have done a couple beginners dives before in Egypt, and it has always been one diver per person, so I was surprised when we were told we had one diver between me and my friend. We had to jump into the water with the equipment on, which I was told we wouldn't need to do before booking, as I was told it would be from the beach. We had a very brief tutorial at the back of the boat, but the sea was rough so this didn't help. We then got back on the boat and went to shallower water near the beach. My friend was very nervous and wasn't going to carry on, but the diving instructor took her arm and guided her. However this ment I was left behind a lot. I was struggling to swim down. The diving instructor eventually saw, and helped me down, but then swam off again. Felt like I was not being assisted as much as I should for a first dive. At One point I panicked as I swallowed some water and choaked and my goggles filled up, I struggled to swim to the surface by myself as in the panic I couldn't find the valve to inflate the jacket. Everytime I've done the dive before I've had an instructor by myside to help me. So unfortunately I would not recommend this for beginner divers. I did not feel safe unfortunately After the diving we went to a second site where we could snorkel, however the visibility wasn't good. Apparently the first site was good snorkeling, but I missed this as we did the dive, but didn't see much on the dive as wasn't relaxed. I very rarely write reviews, but unfortunately felt the need for this as I didn't feel safe, and a bad experience can put me off from diving again
