Trek through Cat Ba National Park to Viet Hai Village

Cat Ba Island - Begin the adventure with a convenient hotel pickup by our knowledgeable tour guide. Pickup time is approximately 8:00 AM. Proceed to Cat Ba National Park.

Cat Ba National Park - Arrive at the park entrance, pay the entrance fee, and set off on an invigorating trek. Immerse yourself in the lush tropical forest, encountering a variety of wildlife such as nimble minks, inquisitive squirrels, playful monkeys, vibrant butterflies, and possibly the rare yellow-headed langur, a primate listed in the Red Book. Conquer three mountains known locally as “Ang Vắt,” “Mây Bầu,” and “Ang Phay.”

After a 2.5-hour trek covering about 6 kilometers, reach the Frog Pond, the largest freshwater lake within the National Forest. From the pond’s depths, towering “Va Nuoc” trees rise, a species unique to the Frog Pond and found nowhere else on Cat Ba Island. Observe the diverse fish and crab species inhabiting the pond, and take a well-deserved 30-minute break.

Viet Hai Village - Continue the trek from Frog Pond, ascending the final mountain named “Doc Dài” to reach Viet Hai village, a serene ancient settlement of around 100 families. (4 km)

Viet Hai Village - Enjoy a delicious lunch and a relaxing break in Viet Hai village. Experience a unique fish massage, where gentle fish nibble on your feet as you soak in the cool stream flowing from Cat Ba’s primeval forest.

Lan Ha Bay - Immerse yourself in the daily life of the village’s residents. Take a leisurely 5-kilometer bicycle ride to Viet Hai harbor, where you’ll board a scenic boat cruise through Lan Ha Bay. Stop at a floating home and embark on a kayaking adventure, exploring the mesmerizing beauty of Lan Ha Bay, renowned as the world’s most captivating bay. Relish the tranquility as you immerse yourself in the crystal-clear waters of Lan Ha Bay.

Bến Bèo - The boat will transport you back to Cai Beo Wharf, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit Cai Beo Fishing Village on the return journey. Established centuries ago, Cai Beo bears witness to the legacy of Cat Ba’s ancient residents who transitioned from forest dwellers to seafaring communities, seeking sustenance from the ocean’s bounty.

Cat Ba - Conclude your journey with a return ride to Cat Ba town center. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Cat Ba - Lan Ha Bay – Ha Long Bay

Cat Ba - Around 11:00 AM, guests will be picked up from their address on Cat Ba Island, then transferred by tender to our cruises from Cai Beo Port. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed onboard, offered a Welcome Drink, and given a cruise briefing and safety instructions by the crew and Cruise Manager. Enjoy lunch before continuing the journey through the islets.

Lan Ha Bay - After lunch, prepare to visit the untouched Cat Ba Island, from Coc Ngoi islet, Cua Dong sea gate to Ba Trai Dao area.

Halong Bay - The cruise sails through Lan Ha Bay, surrounded by extraordinary limestone karst landscapes. Begin the journey to visit Dark & Bright Cave and islets by kayaking, which offers a wild and mysterious beauty in the heart of the World Heritage site. Enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Bay. This is a wonderful experience, immersed in the bay’s pristine waters.

Lan Ha Bay - Returning to your Venezia Cruises boat, witness the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. Onboard, guests may join a traditional cooking class. Our chef will guide you in making Vietnamese spring rolls. In the early evening, the boat offers a Happy Hour deal. Dinner is served, featuring delicious local cuisine prepared and served by our excellent onboard catering staff. This is a delightful meal in an intimate, romantic setting.

Viet Hai Village – Lan Ha Bay – Cat Ba

Lan Ha Bay - Start the day by taking photos or enjoying the sunrise from your cabin window or the sun-deck. Delight in breakfast amidst the serene beauty of the bay.

Halong Bay - Transfer to a tender to visit Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island and embark on a bicycle ride (electric car also available) through a rainforest tunnel leading to a village nestled in a valley deep within a national park. Meet and visit a traditional house, greet local inhabitants as they go about their daily activities, and see their homes and the village school.

Return to the cruise for check-out procedures. While cruising back, enjoy a delightful lunch. We return to the quay side in the south of the bay, where visitors disembark.

Cat Ba - At the end of the tour, guests will finish on Cat Ba Island, and our car will take them back to their address on the island.
