Explore Mount Etna on tour from Catania! You will be introduced to the landscapes and geology of the Volcano from our naturalistic and passionate guide.
Following a hiking route up to 2000 meters, you will have the chance to admire forests, craters, lava formations, and scenic views of the mountain.

Explore Mount Etna on tour from Catania! You will be introduced to the landscapes and geology of the Volcano from our naturalistic and passionate guide.
Following a hiking route up to 2000 meters, you will have the chance to admire forests, craters, lava formations, and scenic views of the mountain.
You will visit a volcanic cave using the equipment provided from us (helmets and torches).
After the trekking, you will stop at a nice Chalet, where you will enjoy a rustic lunch made with local products (starter and first course) together with a good glass of  Sicilian red wine. It is possible to arrange, upon request, a suitable dish to vegetarians and coeliacs.
Then we will move to the amazing Alcantara River Gorges to discover more of Sicily’s natural beauty.
The tour is in Italian and English. Upon request also in Spanish and French.
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
- English and Italian guide are always available, French and Spanish are subject to availability. Upon booking, we will confirm you if the language required is available.
- Trekking shoes are mandatory. We can provide trekking shoes and jackets for free if requested at the time of booking.

Passionate tour guide - Mainly wanted to give a five-star review for our tour guide Giovanni, who’s very passionate, knowledgeable and friendly — Learnt a lot about Mt Etna and Sicily from him! The tour itself was decent. It was a rainy day so we didn’t get any stunning views at the craters, but overall satisfied with the tour.

You really get your moneys worth! - This experience really gave me my moneys worth! Sweet and experienced guides with a lot of knowledge on the area. They were helpful and gave good recommendations and advice. Picked me up and delivered me right next to my air BnB. The route is visited by millions a year, and it shows, it’s really on the beaten track. If you want to see the basics, have a safe tour and get a wonderful lunch and wine on the way, this is for you! Also got to know new people, which was a plus for me as solo traveller. Highly recommended!

Etna and Alcantara Gorges - Experience to recommend. Danilo was a patient and exemplary Guide throughout the excursion passing on his passion for the volcano and its land. Fantastic scenery, very good food (albeit a bit poor) and incredible wine tasting, especially almond wine.

Highly recommended tour - We had the most amazing day with Andrea! Etna was spectacular and worth the pain I will felt in my legs the next day. Im not an experienced hiker and our guide was very patient with my slow ascent. The provision of hiking poles was a great help. Andrea has so much knowledge and he took the whole thing to another level with his insights. I am a plant lover and he was able to answer so many questions for me.
The cave was scary but exciting.
The gorge was amazing and the water invigorating to paddle in.
Lunch at the Emilio Sciacca Etna winery was wonderful 😋 and the view from there was beautiful.

Perfect excursion! - An incredible experience from beginning to end - from hiking Etna, to the winery, to swimming in Alcantara. Perfect amount of time at each destination, too.

Excellent tour with knowledge guide - Excellent tour. Tye right amount of time at each location. Depending on the weather take a light jacket and wear pants. Take a bathing suit and recommend swim shoes or flip flops. Take the guide up on the offer of hiking shoes.

Fabulous day exploring Mt Etna & Alcantara Gorge - We spent a fabulous day with Marco as our guide. His knowledge of Mt Etna was excellent and he made sure all our needs were met throughout the day. The visit to Alcantara Gorge was a highlight for us.

Passion and specialty - We loved the whole experience.
The organizors helped us to find the right tour, as this day was a special occosion to us.
Our guide, Danilo was very nice, passionate, attentive and well-prepared.
The Etna Wine and Alcantara tour was a very good combination of experiencing and learning about an active vulcano, and enjoying local products and have a nice time in a special place.
Thank you again, you helped us celebrate this special day in a uniqe way.

Reliable tour company with awesome guide - I enjoyed the tour very much. Marco was an exceptional guide. He's very knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic. He made the whole trip very insightful and interesting. One point to note is that I had a discussion of the various tour companies with my hostel dorm mates and a number of them had negative experience (last minute cancellation etc) with other companies. Etna Experience seems to be one of the more reliable ones. I deducted a point because I initially wanted to do the easy summit tour but was told there wasn't enough participants and I was asked to sign up for this Etna wine Alcantara tour instead while waiting to see if the summit tour becomes available. There was no update on that. Although this Etna wine Alcantara tour is perfectly fine and highly recommended if you want an easier day with more variety, what I really wanted is more hiking and less excursion. Perhaps the company can do more to allow people to choose the summit tour instead (wouldn't have minded paying a bit more for it).
