A great and unique experience. - Excellent day. Cable car and 4x4 bus all booked in advance, and timing worked great. Our guide was very knowledgable and ready to answer all questions.

So glad we planned a whole day for this! - Great experience & what a thrill! Fun winding drive up to base, then gondola up, & then heavy duty bus ride up even further! (Glad we did the bus, as hiking would've taken awhile...) Exciting 40 minute hike last of the way to a crater rim! Awesome info & help from our guide Marco. Tix about $260 overall for 3 of us, & worth every penny.

Highly recommend - advise doing the optional cable car ride as well - wonderful experience with first rate guide. Francesco was outstanding - informative and great sense of humor.

Mt Etna - Small eruption when at top, views wonderful, cable car not operating. Eat first as you’ll get hungry.

Be cautious of arrival time requirement - This is more of an FYI about the times shown as available because it is a bit misleading. I was really excited about doing this activity but contacted the operator to ensure we would be able to since we wouldn't arrive in Catania until 1pm. I had booked it because it was an open ticket and opening hours are 8:30-4. I was told we would have to be there by 2 and that the commute from the airport to Mt. Etna was approximately an hour, so we likely wouldn't be able to do the tour that day. Unfortunately, that's our only day in Catania, so I canceled. Bummed.

an (expensive) must-have - Bad signage, expensive even if the site justifies the expense, practical information delivered sparsely and reluctantly by the staff.

Had to wait in line, disappointing. - We booked this tour ahead of time so we would not have to wait in line. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We ended up having to wait on line.

No skip - only chaos! - Don’t buy this trip. Etna is amazing but you may as well buy your ticket there. There is no skip the line. As a fellow traveller said - no skip just chaos You have to wait in line to swap your internet code for a physical ticket which you need to enter the cable car. We thought the instructions weee vague about where to go for skip the line - and it was because it didn’t exist. Allow an extra half & hour & keep your money until Sicily.

Viator added nothing but confusion to and excellent experience - Etna was great. Paying with Viator to escape the queue was pointless because the process of getting the tickets on Etna took far longer than if we had paid with cash on the day. Furthermore, using the App was very painful because the creators assumed that you have email on your phone, which I don't.

Great experience. Find another company. - Ticket / QR code would not appear or work after purchase at hotel or ticket counter. Had to rebook on the spot for the experience. Viator would not issue any type of refund. Experience on site was wonderful. Just would recommend booking directly through Funivia dell'Etna.
