I had a great time during... - I had a great time during the day trip, after contemplating hiring a car and driving myself I’m glad I didn’t as the amount of driving was extensive. It was a long day but well worth it, the Valley of the Temples was inspiring and Piazza Armenia was breath taking. Excellent value for money!

A wonderful historical tour in Sicily. - This was a good tour with Sicily Day by Day.The booking process was smooth. Laura in the office was very pro active with responses and information. This was a small group ( 6 people) and Angelo , our driver cum guide, was knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information, ( we were also given printed material) which was useful. He gave us clear instructions about pick ups etc and was a very pleasant and helpful person. We were also given a very nice lunch of our choice at the local cafe which was such a thoughtful touch… The sights themselves were truly worthy especially The valley of the Temples and would definitely recommend this tour.

Outstanding Tour to Amazing Archeological Sites. - An outstanding tour. The van was clean and new. The driver/guide was relaxed and easy to understand. Lunch was a gourmet sandwich in a quiet museum restaurant. It was one of our best day tours.

Antonio was the best - Antonio was exceptional. He helped everyone when needed. He didn’t rush us. He wanted us to know that if we wanted he would have stopped for photos. He stopped for a bathroom break. We had lunch in a nice spot and he told us about the history. We were 7 people total and very comfortable in the van which was air conditioned. It was such a long long day for Antonio and he always had a smile on his face and put all of us first. Thank you Antonio. Arrivederci. L’ho scritto questo inglese nel modo che i turisti possono capire quello che ho scritto.

Great day trip! - Great tour! Angelo was our guide and was awesome! Angelo was fun and personable and made everyone feel welcome and he gave us a ton of history during the drive and made sure we fully enjoyed our lunch and wines! Valley of the temples was very cool - it’s not guided on this tour but you can get an audio tour at the entrance if you want - you will need to leave your passport as security deposit. Also recommend you buy entrance tickets online in advance to skip the Que. Piazza Armerina was also unguided but plenty to read as you walk through to describe what you see. Overall enjoyable day and request Angelo if you can!

Exceptionally helpful guide and driver. - Always happy with the viator team where ever we are in the world. Our guide Antonio or Santonio was exceptionally helpful. He helped us to pick up our bags from the previous hotel and dropped us at next hotel where our booking was. The tour was amazing. 10/10.

A very enjoyable, informative experience - I really enjoyed visiting Valley of the Temples and Villa Romana del Casale. It's a long day with lots of driving from Catania and back again, but Antonio was a very safe, professional driver. He gave us some information about both locations (paper handouts) and there are also display boards to read while walking around. The temples were magnificent and Villa Romana del Casale was really impressive, with some of the best-preserved Roman mosaics that I have ever seen. Myself and some other guests had problems finding the correct exit in Valley of the Temples so I suggest choosing a different meeting point. Once we were reunited with Antonio, we went to a cafe and had sandwiches, icecream, coffee and wine, included in the price of the tour. Reading some of the other reviews, I expected to go to a deli or sit-down restaurant, but perhaps it wasn't possible on the day because we were delayed leaving the archaeological park. The tour company - Sicily Day by Day - was very professional, responding to questions via email and Whatsapp and making the booking process very smooth. I recommend this company and will use them for future tours in Sicily.

Wonderful but not for English speakers due to driver - The itinerary is excellent and even the sandwiches at lunch were wonderful. However the driver lacked even elementary English garbled even more by a very heavy accent. It is wrong for Viator to advertise this tour for English when far far far from that. Really obnoxious distraction. Either assign an actual English speaking driver or stop ad as for English speakers.

A great trip but overpriced - There was lots to like about this trip but at over £100 excluding entrance fees to sites makes it an expensive excursion. The driver with limited English was nice but the mini bus was tired with worn upholstery and some seat belts broken. Unexpectedly, the Turkish Steps were added and this meant a shorter time at the 2 main sites we had booked. The Villa Romana was wonderful with some of the best mosaics to be seen in situ. It would have been nice to be there longer than 90 minutes but it’s well worth visiting. The Valley of the Temples ( Agrigento) is truly fantastic. We had lunch provided before heading to the main site and I would advise anyone going there to carry water, wear a hat and have comfortable footwear.By heading to the Turkish Steps late afternoon, it made for a very long day as there was a 1 km walk along the beach to see the rock formation called the Turkish Steps so to give adequate time, we headed back to Catania at 6 pm, getting back at 8.30 pm. The positives are many with great photo opportunities, some paper information handed out on arrival at each site, meeting very nice fellow travellers and a chance to see areas that one might not otherwise see. The negatives for me was the cost, a nice driver who spoke limited English despite his best efforts and a lack of clarity about how the day would be shaped reminding those going what’s included, and the length of time travelling. My companion and I were able to get in and out of the mini bus but there would be potential challenges for anyone with mobility issues. A small portable step as you get in and out of the minibus would help. By all means go but expect the unexpected!
