A gem for Cavtat - Such an apt museum for its location, fitting in well within the beautiful and charming town of Cavtat. Unique and quaint, with a wealth of shells, facts and some art work is also on display. This collection is housed in a lovely building and is exhibited wonderfully. There is a factual video, self guided tour and some lovely souvenirs. The lovely lady that runs this is both welcoming and knowledgable. Showing passion for what she does. Knowing this museum was within the town was our deciding factor to holiday here and it didn’t disappoint. Visit early in your stay to discover any additional events they may be holding during the week. Thank you for a unique experience which made my daughters day : )

Great value, under 18s free - Do not miss a trip to this special museum when you are in Cavtat. It's very centrally located to the old town. You can see the passion everywhere in the exhibitions and in the items left out for kids. The proprietor oozed passion also, it's always such a massive pleasure to be in it's presence! The proprititar also shows documentaries on Wednesday nights in the lovely room which looks like it was an old theatre perhaps.

A unique experience - A truly unique museum curated by one family with a passion for showcasing the beauty of the sea and protecting the biodiversity. A great way to spend 30 mins - 1 hour, the shells were beautiful and fascinating and you could ask as many questions as you liked. The curator was eager to answer them and tell you the stories of the shells. A very peaceful spot within Cavtat!

An amazing and unique collection - Only been open for just over a year and full of shells and corals from all over the world, sourced by the owners own diving experience as well as purchasing from other collections. All the corals and shells (thousands) are individually listed and named. You are also given a ticket from which you can scan your own audio guide onto your mobile phone. There has been a lot of work put into it and no doubt the collection will continue to expand. Yasmin and I wish them all the best in their endevours.

Shell museum - This is a family that started diving and collecting shells and fossils from all over the world, there is a fossil that is 166 million years old ! Very interesting and some very strange and wonderful shells and fossils, the lady told us everything we wanted to know and how it all started, well worth a visit.

A Very Interesting Experience…… - Before visiting this museum did not know what to expect. A whole new world was opened up. This is a collection of shells found by a family involved in sea diving who decided to open a museum to show the public the world of sea shells. Amazing shapes, sizes and colours of sea shells can be found in three very long glass cabinets. Each shell has information on small cards giving detailed information as to the type of shell, where in the world it was found and who first discovered that shell type. Fascinating experience was had here, certainly unusual. A family member was on hand to answer any questions if needed.

Worth a visit - A very fascinating museum filled with a variety of different shells of varying sizes, shapes, and colours. We were guided round the exhibits by the wonderful Enis who was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us her own personal insight and stories on how the shells were made and acquired. I would highly recommend attending this local museum.
