A wonderful trip outside of the city - My guide, Carlos was knowledgeable, considerate and kind. The trip includes 5 stops and each one had a special charm. Otovalo market itself, which is why I signed up the trip, was just a small part of the experience. This is a great way to see as much as possible in a single day. We had lunch (not included in the cost of the trip) in a local restaurant and that in itself was a special treat. The meal was fabulous. My favorite part was the Cascada de Peguche which is a wonderful short hike and lots of lovely energy from the waterfall. All in all a mellow, relaxing and enjoyable tour. I will just say that they are pretty aggressive at the market and all over Quito for pushing their wares so be prepared to say no a lot. Also everyone says to negotiate but their prices are not high and so I didn’t try too hard and I felt like I got good prices. It is a bit of a tourist trap but it’s an interesting one and only one fifth of the entire trip. I found some nice pieces to purchase. All in all a great day and couldn’t be happier. I do just have to give a big thank you to Carlos for stopping at the roadside so I could purchase a chirimoya (local fruit) after I told him that I really like them. I enjoyed my chirimoya Carlos, Thank you!!

Otalvo Tour - This tour changed my mind completely on taking tours. Irene made us feel like family instead of a bunch of sheep being herded around. Irene was always making everything that is usually boring like bus rides or waiting fun and educational! Irene is always welcome to the table to eat, and honestly I couldn't imagine a tour in Ecuador without her energy. Whenever someone asks me what to do in Ecuador, I know who to name!

Good sights, fantastic local market - Our second tour with the guide, Adrian, who is awesome. So many stories and great information to learn about the area. We started off the day with a stop at the equator and some breakfast. A short walk to a waterfall, a stop by a beautiful lake and some time in the Otavalo market. The only tough part is that I want to eat my way through the market with all of the local options -- but it's RIGHT before lunch so you can't really do both. Yeah, it's rough when that's the bad part....... The market is fantastic, and you can really see a lot of authentic (and many not so much) items from the local populations.

Otavalo, Peguche Waterfalls, Cayambe and Indigenous Market - Felipe was excellent! He is very knowledge, patient and fun. It was a real pleasure to be in this tour with him and Guillermo the driver. The sites and the itinerary were amazing. The bizcocho factory and the local artist there, plus El Taller de Instrumento Andino were the highlights of the tour for my wife and I. Thank you for such a memorable tour!
