Fab night, fab food! - We met our lovely guide Ana at the massive Fig tree just off the front at Caleta beach.
We were joined by another couple (from Australia) and that was the tour ready.
We walked 3/4 minutes to find our first tapas bar. It didn’t open until 8:30 but they let us in and we found a table. Here we had a drink and three tapas including black squid balls.
We then moved on but the next bar was so busy Ana recommended that we go somewhere else and return after.
The next was probably our favourite of the three ‘El Faro’. We had a designated window spot (tapas bar) but after we finished walked through to the restaurant side with Ana and even met the owner who is very much hands on helping her under pressure staff keep on top of the demand. El Faro is celebrating 40 years this year and has been featured in a Rick Stein show.
We then moved back to our original bar and it was a lot quieter. Again we had drinks and lovely tapas including one cheese with asparagus marmalade on the top. Delicious!
We had a great night with a fab guide Ana. Thank you xx

Totally enjoyable evening. - We were 3 on the tour, starting at one of the most famous due to it being popular with both the locals as well as international celebrities. Ana our guide, was very knowledgeable about the food and the chosen wines. Another restaurant and round of different tapas with detailed explanations from Ana as to their provenance. The whole evening was an absolute joy.

A fun evening - The tour was a great way to spend the evening. Our guide Maeve was knowlegable and good company. We tried lots of the recommended dishes and wines, some we liked, some we didnt, but that was the whole point, to try new things. The different restaurants were varied and interesting. Worth a try.

Matteo is awesome! - Matteo is the man.
Best tour guide since we got to Spain.
He was fun, he was friendly, he was knowledgeable. He even drank with us throughout the night!
Thank you Matteo for a great evening and showing us the best food spots in Cadiz.

AMAZING GUIDE - THANK YOU MAEVE - Maeve, our guide was an absolute delight. Our only disappointment was not having other people to converse with, but that’s not Maeve’s fault just circumstance. The wines were incredible & it was nice to try Spanish tapas but they were completely different to what we expected. My husband throughly enjoyed the dessert & muscat.

Didn't receive the entire experience - We had a very pleasant English speaking guide for our tapas. The package we purchased which was clarified was 3 hours; 3 restaurants-each with a drink and 3 tapas to sample. He was in charge of which restaurants we experienced. We went to Taberna Casa Manteca and El Faro, both provided unique and delicious offerings. However, this was Saturday, the restaurants busy and wait times longer than usual. Our guide suggested after the 2nd restaurant between the fact that we were full and the restaurants so busy we would end the tour. we were disappointed that we were missing 1 experience.

Be prepared to wait - The experience was ok…. I was the only one in the tour. We were supposed to go to 3 locations but only 1 was available. The tour guide does not make reservations beforehand so be prepared to either walk around looking for a place to accommodate or wait a while to get a seat or even worse just go to 1 place and order the 3 tapas and 3 drinks from 1 place. Not much was said about the town.
Also bring your own water or you will pay for it as it is not part of the tour.

Avoid! - What tour?
We booked, we paid and all was confirmed via email the day of the scheduled tour for 8:00 pm.
We arrived 15 min early and waited 45 minutes in the dark, in a secluded area of the city but no one arrived. Not a tour guide. Not another tour member.
They had our phone number and our email but no one had the courtesy to advise us of a cancellation.
Were we in the wrong meeting place? No. We took photos of the of the place and time we were there.
So it was a no show. And an almost no refund of almost $200. Not to mention the 10:euro we spent on cab fare.
Fortunately, we were able to receive a full refund with “some” discussion.
My advice. Be wary and document everything.
