One of its most striking features is its golden-tiled dome, which has earned it the nickname “Catedral de la Santa Cruz sobre el Mar” or “Cathedral of the Holy Cross upon the Sea.” This grand cathedral stands as a testament to Cádiz’s maritime heritage and historical significance.
Inside, visitors can explore an array of chapels adorned with stunning artwork, intricate sculptures, and beautiful stained glass windows. The crypt houses the remains of several notable figures from Cádiz’s history.
- Teatro Romano - The Romano Theatre of Cadiz is on the tour route. The Roman theater is located in the El Populo district, just east of the city’s main cathedral.
