Must visit if you are around - Beautiful old castle with a lot of history. It used to belong to a powerful house of Grofje Celjski and it shows. It is placed above old city center of Celje which offers scenic views of Celje and its sourroundings. A must visit if you are around!

Cool Place - Visited the Castle on a gorgeous sunny day and it was just wonderful You get a great feeling of medieval times and the walk ways between some of the buildings make you feel like you are on the set of a Game of Thrones episode Fabulous views from the top of the tower and really good information about the castle Nice little cafe at the entrance which is nice at the end, especially if the the weather was hot, like on our visit Well worth the €15 for a family of 4 !

A must to visit - Interesting to visit, torture chamber and also the view from the big tower. Unfortunately no guided tour available. Lots of steps to climb, but the view makes up for it.

Satisfying - Very beautiful castle, well maintained with a satisfying view of Celje from above, inside there is a bar where you can eat with a discount of €1 from the price of the entrance ticket

Guided tour with my Erasmus programme - Was visiting this castle with my Erasmus programme. We had a lovely visit and guide was very good at explaining and answering the questions. However, tour was shorter than I expected.

Nice view and nice bar - Nice and beautiful castle with a cozy bar with small playground on. Beautiful view of the city. Not a super long visit, but for what you pay there definitely worth stopping.

The view pays off the many stairs - Castle reached after several steep curves by car, little parking but free, friendly ticket office, the girl speaks Italian, there are also brochures in Italian. Well maintained castle, although it is a bare of contents, balconies and stairs not accessible to people with motor disabilities. In the tower there is a miserable part dedicated to torture, there is an internal bar with normal prices. Spectacular views from all sides of the walls.

Only interest: the view - I am surprised to read so many positive reviews. We only spent an hour on site (we can add the 20 minutes spent having a drink). They're almost just ruins. We were told at the entrance that there was an exhibition on instruments of torture. I expected to go through several rooms. In the end, there was only one! The tour was quick. The explanatory panels on the castle are limited. I would say that the main interest of this castle is the view of Celje and its surroundings. I read that there was entertainment on weekends. We went today Friday. It was "dead." I specify that there is parking right next to the entrance of the castle. There is also a path to climb on foot (shady path). A sign says it takes 25 minutes to get to the castle but we met a person who had borrowed it and told us it took well over half an hour! One last point: dogs are allowed, kept on a leash. There is a misleading sign at the entrance: a dog off a leash, crossed out with a cross. So we thought dogs were forbidden. Luckily, we saw a woman with a dog in the distance. As a result, we were asked the question and told that it was dogs not on a leash that were prohibited. In summary, I would recommend this castle only to people staying in the immediate vicinity. There is much more beautiful to see in Slovenia.
