Setting Sail into the Fjord

The allure of the Saco do Mamanguá Fjord had been calling my name for quite some time. As a former professional surfer, I’ve always been drawn to the ocean’s mysteries, and this fjord promised an adventure unlike any other. Nestled in the heart of Centro Histórico, the fjord is a hidden gem, boasting an 8 km long and 2 km wide inlet adorned with 33 beaches and 8 traditional caiçara communities. The depths of Mamanguá harbor a beautifully preserved mangrove area, and I was eager to explore its wonders.

The day began with a hint of uncertainty as the skies were overcast, and the tides weren’t exactly in our favor for snorkeling. But as any seasoned ocean lover knows, the sea has a way of surprising you. Our guide, Adisson, was a beacon of positivity, assuring us that the day held promise.
