The vibes were immaculate! - Our guide was awesome. We really felt like we had a local showing us all that Rio’s Lapa District has to offer. Better than the tours offered of Dirty Sixth in Austin and Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

Great time and lots of dancing! - It was amazing! We had a smaller group but it was still an enjoyable time. Learning to samba by the group leader was definitely the highlight of the night!

Awesome!! - Marcos was a legend!! The group we were in was super fun! The bars we went to were epic, awesome Brazilian music!! All round awesome!!!

Pub crawl fun - Great experience the host were very accommodating and helpful. they had a nice round of free drinks they offered. Would recommend

Fun & Safe Tour, Would recommend - Fun organized pub crawl! My husband and I had a fun night. We started at a chic rooftop bar downtown, then a fun live music bar with a small dance floor, then hit a club with another band. The bar was absolutely packed for a Tuesday night. I would have a hard time doing this tour as a single person. I think the organizer should have done a better job facilitating introductions and who does/doesn't speak English. A quick Samba lesson would have helped kick off the night as well. Small suggestions, overall fun (and safe) night! Other tips: 1. Make sure you have a pic of your passport/ID for getting into some bars 2. Avoid carrying a pursue 3. Plan to pay by credit card

Best tour in Brazil - Great tour. Gave a truly great insight into the favela. Walked throughout and still felt very safe. Was able to see local artist and culture. Not rushed. Moderate walking but was able to take breaks as needed. Highly recommend doing this tour

Beautiful night!! - Beautiful experience!! The night in Lapa is very fun and with the guide Lia, even more beautiful!! Don't miss the opportunity to meet her!!

Not worth it - This was a weird experience and a waste of money and energy. We spent an hour at a loud hostel just kind of waiting for the tour to begin. Then we were called downstairs to drink cheap cachaca and play “never have I ever” to break the ice. Then the very sweet guide took us to a good, but empty samba club. This was a good experience but focused more on music/dancing than mingling. Shortly after we followed the guide to another empty club with a very weird vibe and a prostitute and pimp that hit on one of our group members. Before this began our guide left to buy snacks. She was gone for too long we felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave. Group moral and unity was out the window, people started splitting up and going to other clubs and bars they preferred/were drawn to. I signed up to meet people and be social and everyone split up. I could have saved the money and gone to Lapa alone. The bars and clubs chosen were terrible, empty- compared to others. I don’t understand why the cost is so high when all the clubs we entered were free and no drinks were included except the cheap cachaca we drank as a pre game.

Tourist trap - may or may not be your thing esp during carnival - The Lapa district is very similar to Bourbon street in NOLA - full of pubs and bars - and during carnival, lots of drunk and partying people. If you are interested in blocos parties, this may be good for you but beware of the issues that will probably come from severely inebriated people and very organized pickpockets.

Boring Tour and Guides - Do the Tour yourself and save some money - We did the Lapa pub crawl with friends in April 2024 and paid 100 Real per person. The locations chosen were not very exclusive (Youth Hostel) and the tour guides were a bit unmotivated. The drinks were warm cachaca. We had the impression that the locations were chosen because of the high prices of drinks, which makes the event twice as expensive. We therefore canceled the pub crawl early. Our clear recommendation is to do the tour on your own. Since Lapa is full of people, getting to know people is no problem.
