Fun & Safe Tour, Would recommend - Fun organized pub crawl! My husband and I had a fun night. We started at a chic rooftop bar downtown, then a fun live music bar with a small dance floor, then hit a club with another band. The bar was absolutely packed for a Tuesday night. I would have a hard time doing this tour as a single person. I think the organizer should have done a better job facilitating introductions and who does/doesn't speak English. A quick Samba lesson would have helped kick off the night as well. Small suggestions, overall fun (and safe) night! Other tips: 1. Make sure you have a pic of your passport/ID for getting into some bars 2. Avoid carrying a pursue 3. Plan to pay by credit card

Best tour in Brazil - Great tour. Gave a truly great insight into the favela. Walked throughout and still felt very safe. Was able to see local artist and culture. Not rushed. Moderate walking but was able to take breaks as needed. Highly recommend doing this tour

A Night of Fun: Rio de Janeiro Pub Crawl in Lapa - I was originally thinking of staying in the Lapa district, and boy, am I glad I didn't! Busy, lively, and just the right kind of chaotic. But let me tell you, for a night out, it was absolutely perfect!

Not bad - A little bit unorganized in the beginning, but still a great party. We just need a little more organization and they would’ve been perfect.

Pub crawling in Rio under rain :-) - Apart from the inconvenience of the bad weather, it was a super wonderful experience between each bar. However, being black, I was able to recognize racism in the flesh of the group to which I belonged. In any case, the guides were super friendly and attentive. And they brought us some unforgettable cheese cakes. I would definitely do the tour with them again!

Tourist trap - may or may not be your thing esp during carnival - The Lapa district is very similar to Bourbon street in NOLA - full of pubs and bars - and during carnival, lots of drunk and partying people. If you are interested in blocos parties, this may be good for you but beware of the issues that will probably come from severely inebriated people and very organized pickpockets.

Meh - Unfortunately, it was rather disorganised and overbooked with too many people. There were no free drinks and the places we went to were already too packed.

Nothing special - Went to three bars in total, we were promised to experience Samba music which was barely the case. The first bar was the meeting point at the Selina Hostel at 9:00 pm. We left to the second place around 10:30, the place is a 5- minute walk from the first one. A band started to play Samba almost an hour after we arrived. After thirty/ forty minutes we have to go and pay for our drinks before leaving. Paying took forever!, and the guides where not helping the crowd during this process leaving anyone that didn't speak Portuguese with no guidance and super confused. We then leave to the third and last place - almost next to the previous one- which was basically the typical club you can find anywhere in the world, with the typical pop music blasting for the rest of the night. I was a bit disappointed. Lapa is a sketchy neighborhood and it can get pretty dangerous at night specially for tourists. A handful of people from the street approached us while we were standing in line to go inside the two bars, and we had to deal with it on our own, no support from the guides whatsoever. Bottom line, stick to your other free walker tours which are totally worth it but skip this one since you can definitely do it on your own without having to pay for it.
