Additional Information

Dobrogea, or Dobruja, is traditionally referred to as the world’s end by the Romans, who banished the famous poet Ovidiu there. We will traverse the Danube river using the renowned Anghel Saligny bridge, taking in the scenic river view from Rasova Winery situated on a hilltop. This vantage point offers a magnificent panorama of the Danube and its surrounding landscapes. After sampling wines, we’ll head to Mamaia, a sought-after beach frequented by the youth of Romania and neighbouring nations, transforming it into a bustling party hotspot.

Arriving in Constanta, historically referred to as Tomis by the Greeks, we’ll discover the city’s notable landmarks like the Roman mosaic, the Genovese lighthouse, and the city’s emblem, ‘The Casino,’ constructed by the Romanian king.

Following that, we’ll proceed to an ancient monument commemorating the Roman Emperor Traian’s victory over the Dacians in winter 101-102. This monument majestically towers at 40 meters.

Finally, we’ll visit the St Andrew cave, revered as Romania’s oldest church and a testament to Christianity.
