Most flying foxes eat fruit and are also called fruit bats. Fruit bats are ecologically and economically important because they pollinate and disperse the seeds of wild and commercial plants. Pemba Island is home to 4 species of Old World fruit bats (Megachiroptera).

Explore South of Pemba Island by Vising Pemba Flying Fox, Spice farms & plantations and Chake Chake which is located in the middle of Pemba island about 15 minutes’ drive from Pemba Airport and it is situated on a hill with a view on the bay where the tides determine when a dhow can enter the harbour.
