Great trip in beautiful nature - Very personal tour, the driver, Anas, was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the area and did accommodate to personal preferences. Lunch was great and ‘safe’ also for westerners, in a beautiful resort. Would recommend it!!

A wonderful nature experience - A trip that is absolutely worth it. If it is hot outside, you should take your time for the descent and ascent. Then everyone can do it.

A breathtaking amazingly loved experience - We went to Athirapally and the whole experience was all new to us but the tour guider and the agency made ua feel so amazing and the waterfall view was literally breathtaking. The tour guider took really good care of us and he explained us everything clearly.
We were picked up from our hotel 30 min prior to departure and they were really punctual and amazing people.
The whole tour was so amazing and we enjoyed and loved every bit of it. ❤️
Highly recommend!!

A tour to dream of: ATHIRAPILLY WATERFALL - Mr. Anoop of Saffron India Tuor was very professional in the promotion and booking of the day trip. Mr Jojia, our driver, was great and he took us in an amazing place: ATHIRAPPILLY waterfall. Many happy people swimming and enjoying the water. A MUST-SEE place

Great tour. Excellent lunch but appalling communication - The Athirapilly falls are spectacular and well worth the 2 hour drive, the latter part being through palm oil, rubber and pineapple plantations. Depending on your preference you might want to swap the second falls for a trip to the beach, but not before having the resort lunch which was fantastic. We also had a careful and courteous driver. The only negative factor was a total absence of communication from Safrn tours.

A Nice Tour of Two Falls (and more)! - Beautiful river sites on this tour. Waterfalls, a suspension bridge, and more!
Pros:
- A nice day trip to see some of the natural beauty of the area.
- Nice views at the top and bottom of the Athirappilly falls. enjoy the mist from the falls from the bottom.
- Lots of monkeys at the Athirappilly falls. But beware, they are greedy and try to steal any food you have, whether an ice cream from your hand or foods from a tote bag.
- A pleasant stop at a suspension bridge over the river. Beautiful views, places to relax on both sides of the river, and a nice break from the car ride.
- Vazhachal falls and a third (if water is flowing) are nice as well, even if visible only from an observation area.
- Very good lunch in a nice resort restaurant.
- The guide/driver took us via the forest, offering a chance to see wild elephants. (Although we didn't spot any, just some evidence they were there!)
- The fact the tour was all-inclusive (except for tips) was great!
Cons:
- It's a long car ride to and from, over mostly rough roads.
- To access Athirappilly falls, it's a moderate hike. The hike down to the base (and back up) is more challenging, so just be aware that moderate athletic ability is needed to see the falls!
- Despite signs warning of fines, lots of people throwing trash on the ground especially at the falls. You'd think the park management would take a lounging staff member at the front gate and assign them to scold litterers.
Summary: A nice trip outside the city. Be sure to stop as often as possible to see as much as possible. It breaks up the trip and makes the car time more rewarding!

A day late? - I had booked my tour for Sunday 22 SEP & received the confirmation email. An hour after scheduled pick up and the driver had not arrived. Using the in-app function to contact the vendor was to no avail as they were not open on Sundays, so I had to install WhatsApp to contact Viator.
Thankfully I did soon receive a call from the vendor, saying there had been a technical issue and the hadn't received the notice from Viator (how did it becomes confirmed). The tour was rescheduled for the following day. Although I did receive my tour, a day of my vacation was lost.
Of the tour itself, the waterfalls were a wonderful sight, and there were none of the usual 'shopping stops' that tend to take place on these tours. My driver Mahsood was friendly & professional.

Do it yourself and save time and money - This was a very poorly executed trip. Either the driver had no idea what our itinerary was or it was a good act. We were promised:
1. A mid size car … it was tiny.
2. Tickets included … we had to pay for them ourselves. This was only 200 rupees per person.
3. Bottled water … had to buy our own.
4. Lunch at 4 star hotel … driver offered for us to get out and buy some lunch from a roadside stall … we got our lunch as promised after complaining and significant delays. This was at Casa Rio and food was good and would have cost around 6 euros each.
5. Vazhachal Falls - driver was 20 minutes on way home when we realised that he was going the wrong way so we made him turn around. This probably added 2 hours to the trip.
We had to complain loudly about paying for a trip and not getting what was supposed to be included. The boss said he would refund us our out of pocket costs but haven’t heard boo from him. He has had 48 hours to respond and hasn’t so my review is scathing (and deserves to be).
The day took close to 8 hours … there is no way they can do it in 6 hours unless you don’t go to the bottom of the Athirappilly Falls.
This is a really expensive way to see the waterfalls. Highly recommend either hiring your own driver or getting an Uber and set your own itinerary and lunch destination. We paid 124 euros when the whole trip could have been done for 40 euros and saved us a lot of aggravation.
Don’t book this trip!!

Book elsewhere - The waterfalls were really beautiful, but this tour itself is not something we would recommend. The driver didn’t speak much English, so it was not a guided tour as he couldn’t say much about the places we visited. He sat in the car while we went to see the waterfalls. The ticket to get in the park costs 200 rupees per person, so we think this tour can be done much cheaper, if you hire a cab instead. We did not get any water or private guide as promised in the tour description. Even though Indians honk a lot, the driver honked so much you couldn’t go 30 seconds without him honking to the radio music or to nothing at all. It also took 2-3 hours longer than we were told. All in all a disappointing tour.
