After processing at both Thai and Lao immigration posts, you’ll board a big local sleeper bus for the 12-hour ride to Luang Prabang. Remember to arrange your visa beforehand, as fees are not included. In Laos, sleeper buses feature two types of beds: single and large twin. Single beds are for individual passengers, arranged in rows, while large twin beds accommodate two travelers side by side. These buses are popular for overnight journeys, offering passengers flexibility in their sleeping arrangements. Additionally, the Loas transportation officer arranges the bus day by day, making it unpredictable and beyond passengers’ control or choice.
- The sleeper bus do not have a restroom on it but we stop every bus station.
