A must do for road riders - Great roads, great food and a great destination run by a great company and great people. As a seasoned road rider I can highly recommend this tour and tour company Big Bike Tours. We rode a KTM790 which was surprisingly good 2 up. We went on this tour at a very hot time of the year, and we wear all of our safety gear, so it was very warm however the support truck and lots of cool water at stops made it easy. We have already started doing more of Big Bike Tours tours based upon how much we enjoyed this trip.

Fantastic experience - We did a 5 days tour, 3 of us on 2 bikes, we expected some rain in August and we did get some but not too much 😊 and despite the rain we had a fantastic time. The bikes, Africa Twin and KTM 790 were in great condition and Jaye the mechanic, driver, waiter maintained them every day. Our guides Pong and then Chao were great, they assured a good pace without loosing anyone 😂, the routes were just outstanding both in terms of riding experience and scenery/places visited. Meals and accommodation were also well organised and simply outstanding. The entire experience was well above expectations.

Definitely do Thailand on two wheels with Big Bike Tours - Highly recommended. Good bikes, very professional and organised. Our guide was brilliant, great roads and just a the right amount of tourist stops along the way. We had nobody else on our tour in the off season and they still honoured our booking. We’ll be back.

Ride of my life! - Dear Tom/Noah/Kay, This has reference to our recent North Thailand ride with you. At the outset, I must thank you all for arranging such a hassle free, beautiful ride across the north of the kingdom of Thailand. We had one of the most thrilling and memorable ride. Tom, you were excellent with your prompt and clear communications, Noah was exemplary in his efforts as the leader on the ride, riding style, caring for us during the ride and ensuring that we have an absolute glitch free ride. You guys are a perfect team although we didn't get to meet kay but heard a lot of him. Me and my riding buddy KK cant thank you enough. It was wonderful experience with you guys!

Cracking Tour! - As someone who has toured Thailand many times over the years, both guided and self organised, Bike Big tours provide excellent service. They booked extras nights at the hotel before and after tour to secure their rates. The bike was in good order with good tyres; important as some roads and tight bends are polished. Route was great with plenty of bends to test your skills...oh, and great scenery and an interesting ferry crossing. Guides were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. If you've never toured overseas you can be confident with Big Bike.

Some fun roads riding with good company, but a few let downs - I did the True Bikers Paradise tour as a relatively new bike rider and overall found it quite pleasurable. The front of the pack is definitely faster (130km/hr+ cruising speed, weaving through trucks and overtaking on double-lined lanes, as seems the norm in Thailand and why people love it), but they were patient in waiting - as advice, don’t worry about not being at the front, look where you’re going and ride safe! Some tour guides were fantastic (Pong, Chao and Nut, big kudos - especially Chao for always staying close), and the roads in Northern Thailand were fantastic to ride on. Support riders were always not far behind and you were regularly hydrated, with regular food/coffee/toilet stops. Hotels were reasonable, and some food stops are incredible. It was fun hanging out in the night with other riders and the guides. However, I was pretty disappointed that due to a mechanical failure of another bike, we basically had all the highlights from day 3 taken out. Instead, we had to wait in the middle of nowhere for 4 hours for a bike to be delivered from Chiang Mai, with no activities in the area, and instead rode a “shortcut” on a crowded highway instead of national parks to the day’s hotel. There were no apologies or acknowledgement of the disappointment here or any effort to make it better - which is a shame given the cost of the tour, making the trip overseas and driving all that way. I also found that some “free time” blocks with no motorcycling can be a drag. There were 4 hours in a hotel far outside of Nan’s city centre with not much to do (and you can’t take the motorbike yourself to town - and they skipped a tourist site during the day), and around 5 hours in Sukhothai with nothing on the schedule. The pool is usually accentuated as a highlight at these locations, but it was too cold / something I found inadequate as an activity. On the whole, I reckon that the 3 Day Nan loop would’ve sufficed (the last 2 days are mostly high traffic highways anyway). One small tip for the foodies - if you have something to eat in mind, ask to read the menu yourself and ask for a specific dish. Otherwise you only get asked basic questions like “chicken or pork” and “rice or noodles” - and you may be disappointed when the tour guides or the locals gets a more specific dish you may have wanted whilst you get the “Western” version.
