Great tour guide and driver - Susi was amazing. We had two great days with her. The first tour was visiting temples and historic Chiang Mai. The second was to Maerim Elephant Sanctuary. Susi is very knowledgeable and her English is very good.

Chiang Mai day tour with Allie - My 18 year old daughter and I had a wonderful day with Allie as our guide. She took us to Doi Sudhep temple, a tribal village and a local market. She was both fun and informative and went out of her way to accommodate our wishes. I hope to return to Chiang Mai and will certainly arrange more tours with her!

Excellent Service and value - We booked this trip before we left the UK and communication between Wilai and myself was very prompt and accurate. When she arrived at our hotel in chiang mai, she was full of enthusiasm which lasted the whole day. Her knowledge of Chiang Mai and Thailand is fantastic she tells you so much more than the usual large group tours and she takes you to all the best places that usual tours don't go to. So to sum it up if your going to Chiang Mai then you really do need to book this lady and do it in advance as she gets booked up many weeks in advance.

The Best of Northern Thailand with Allie! - My wife and I spent four days in Northern Thailand with Allie as our guide. We opted for a combination of set tours and and unique itineraries. Private tours have their advantages, but you are also stuck with the guide you get. We could not envision a better guide experience than we had with Allie. Not only was she kind, personable and friendly, but she also had extensive knowledge of everything we visited and was able to elaborate at length on the history and background of destinations and attractions. Moreover, she helped us to plan and make optimal usage of our non-touring hours which was greatly advantageous as our time in Thailand was short. We went to Unseen Lampang, Chiang Rai, Doi Inthanon, and a combo day that involved Doi Suthep Temple, Wat Phalad, Wat Umong and Wieng Kumkam. It was as much a food tour as a destination tour for us and rather than just stopping anywhere, Allie helped us pick restaurants and eateries where we could experience the local cuisine of Northern Thailand. She even took as to the market one morning, which was not on our itinerary, where we explored dishes and ingredients and were able to sample different delicacies. We highly recommend Thai Basic Stay - Day Tours and if you have the opportunity to do it with Allie, you won't regret it. We are thankful for the vacation that was made possible for us!

Great guide for Chiang Mai - Wilai was a great guide. She drove us around Chiang Mai and took us to many great places and explained many aspects of the culture from the communities that live there. I have recommended her to a friend who is going to Chiang Mai soon and would recommend her to anyone who is visiting.

A fantastic bespoke experience for my young family - highly recommend! - I found Wilai online after contacting multiple companies with a very specific request (ie not a "boxed tour") & she was incredibly accommodating, prompt at responding & personable. This continued right through our tour where she was available on WhatsApp days/hours before pick-up, and later shared many photos & gave us updates on her life. This is an experience you want to live! Our tour involved local fruits & flavours, Hilltribe visit, river lunch, elephant sanctuary & the waterfall. Wilai was happy to accommodate my ask to fit this into one day for my wife and four kids - this includes two young toddler twins. She was fantastic with my children - they adored her, and she easily picked up the twins to entertain them throughout. Our highlight was the Hilltribe experience. Wilai showed us how she grew up, we learnt about the insects and plants they ate & enjoyed, and met a local family who took us into their house for tea. I'm pleased to recommend Wilai!
