Chania city & Kournas Lake - It is a stunning city, I of the most beautiful I have seen in the Mediterranean in all the countries I have been, the market is very large but sell fruits, veg, spices, herbs etc not tacky clothes etc & the people on the stalls are generous, helpful & chatty eg we bought & paid for the 3 fruits we wanted and they called us back & gave us 2 other fruits for free, we visited the harbour & old town, which was bigger than we thought & the famous lighthouse. The whole town is tidy & the water crystal clear. As regards Kournas Lake, it’s a bit of a steep walk down & back but a cafe if you want to sit & look at the view for a while

Day out to Chania - Had a great day out wandering around the alleys and streets of Chania. It gets very busy around the harbour area and the bars/restaurants charge slightly more due to their prime location. there are some lovely places up the side alleys with typical Greek food

Definitely worth the visit - Beautiful old downtown. We enjoyed walking around and checking out all the shops. Specially the leather shops. Bought couple of items :)

Very nice city - Chania has a very nice old town with a port and many nice little streets. We liked it better here than in Rethymnon.

A very busy city - Lots of things are happening in Chania, pronounced "can ya" in Greek. The walk around the waterfront is very scenic. People everywhere, shops everywhere. Traffic is heavy and not for the faint-of heart. Parking? Good luck.
If you prefer city life, this is your place.

Cute old city - Compared with other places in Greece, Chania looks trapped in the 80’s or 90’s, only few buildings are renovated, the streets need a lot of improvment, but they have looots of good coffee shops and restaurants. Not so many things to visit (sightseeing)... but overall... a cute, relaxing city, where nobody is in a hurry, enjoys life, a good coffee and some good tzatzichi :)
