Lovely day overall- too much beach - Overall, the day was lovely. Our guide (Linda) was fabulous and impressively multilingual. She delivered her tour in three languages! She also did a good amount of heavy lifting at some of the sites (bakery and cheese). The pace of the day was a little frustrating at points. Sometimes I felt rushed (winery) and at other moments, I wondered why we were staying so long (old tree, beach). Idiosmos was by far the best part of the day. It met or exceeded expectations for presentation and tasting experience. Marianna, our host, was awesome. Bakery and cheese left a lot to be desired. It's possible it's just thrown in to get folks to support this family vendor that's just up the street from Idiosmos. Which is fine, but it would've been nice to learn more about graviera. Our guide, not the producers, gave the presentations at those spots. The winery needs mics and cleaner glasses, but it was second best. It was neat to see them in action, but we heard almost nothing of the presentation. Loved the informal way they did the tasting and the beautiful space they use for it. They just need written descriptions displayed for all of the wine. It's impossible to remember what's said about each. There was such a nice variety! The beach stop felt like a main event on this tour and that was a shame to me. If people want to go to the beach, let them book a tour to the beach. Separately. We did not need to spend as much time as we did there. Shave 30-40 minutes off that visit and allow more time for wine, bread, and cheese.
