• Unnamed Road - Starting from Chania after 2h by car we arrive to Anopolis Sfakia.We have a short stop at the bakery there if you wish to buy some snack.Continiu for 15min we pass Aradena brige and arrive at Papadiana, Agios Ioannis.The hike starts there above the clives of the gorge to Agios Vasilis and then Marmara beach approximenatly after2h.From Marmara we hike up to Livaniana village, then to Azoyres and then down into the gorge. We cross opposite site and hike up to Papadiana we started (about3h).(round trip).The way back we stop to Anopoli for lunch if you wish so and then back to Chania.

We embark on a lengthy journey south, savouring the natural beauty of Crete and encountering quaint villages. Our journey brings us to the south coast at Chora Sfakion, then we proceed towards Anopolis, a former prefecture capital. Our route continues via the Aradena bridge, providing a breathtaking view of the gorge. Further along is Papadiana, the starting point for a remarkable hike. The initial segment is a straightforward descent towards the south. The trail then transitions into a moderate hike to Agios Vasilis, a deserted old neighbourhood with a picturesque church and a stunning view of Marmara beach, the Libyan Sea, the gorge, and the White mountains to the north. A challenging hike to Marmara beach follows. Once there, it’s undoubtedly a sight to behold. After a brief rest with an opportunity for a short swim, we resume our journey towards the village of Livaniana. The panorama all along the trail is spectacular. We then progress further to the deserted village of Azoyres. Ruins of a fortress and houses are found here. After traversing through the gorge and a pronounced lifeless forest, we return to the car and make our way back.
