• Elafonissi Beach - Elafonisi is an elongated peninsula that often splits into two parts by water, making it appear as a separate island. It is a Natura 2000 protected area. The island is covered with sand dunes featuring sea daffodils and junipers.

The endangered loggerhead sea turtle and several rare animals and plants find refuge on the island; it is strictly prohibited to remove any plants, animals, shells, or sand from the area.

Exotic beaches with white sand and turquoise waters, reminiscent of the Caribbean, are found on either side of the peninsula. In many places, the sand has a pinkish hue, derived from millions of crushed shells.
