- Morris Island Lighthouse - The journey begins with a relaxing 30-minute cruise departing from the dock, navigating through the picturesque salt marshes of one of Charleston’s most beautiful rivers. Passengers will have the chance to observe a diverse range of local wildlife, including the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin and various stunning estuary birds. Upon reaching Morris Island, an uninhabited barrier island, visitors will be treated to a spectacular view of the renowned Morris Island Lighthouse. If the tide permits, there will be an opportunity to stroll along the beach, search for seashells and shark teeth, capture photos, and immerse in the natural splendor of this unique location. After exploring Morris Island, the return journey will take us back to the dock via Lighthouse House Inlet and The Folly River.

Our tour is perfect for families, friends, couples, or a solo adventure. We are also pet friendly! The water way is calm with land close in sight, so you won’t need to worry about getting sea sick or wet. This tour is relaxing and intimate with small groups. Group sizes are limited to keep a personal experience. Our captains are experienced, knowledgeable, fun, safe, and accommodating! You are welcome to bring whatever you’d like to eat or drink (BYOB). We will provide waters and a cooler with ice and plenty of room for your beverages. There are no restrooms on the boat. Let us know if you have any questions.

We will be departing from Crosby’s Fish & Shrimp Market. If your cruise departs before 6:00 pm, park to the left of the dumpster when pulling into parking lot. If your cruise starts at 6:00 or later, park anywhere in lot.

A relaxing, informative and overall wonderful way to explore the area - The tour with Captain Jodie from Ducworth Charters was wonderful! We took the 4:30pm tour which allowed us to not only see the sunset but also to go to Morris Island to walk on the beach and see the lighthouse.
Captain Josie's educator skills were firmly on display as he pointed out and explained to my friend, my 11 year old and I about dolphins, water birds and bivalves . He steered the boat confidentiality and worked to put us at ease, providing both blankets and water if needed.
Would definitely contact him again if looking to get on the water in the area!

Fun and educational! - I had the most fantastic time!!
I had 2 full days in Charleston to do what I wanted while my husband attended a work conference. We have been visiting Charleston since 1996 (our honeymoon) but never went out to the beach.
We live in Alexandria, VA but are from NY- spend summer vacation on a lake in the Adirondacks.(so I knew to always bring a jacket when out on the water, even if the temperature was 75’ and sunny) I was a Biology major and spent 2 summers working as a park ranger in Central Park. Captain Jody and I are both educators. We had an incredible time teaching each other “stuff”. The life long learner in me was so enthusiastic to learn all about the marsh ecosystem, the ecology, the bird types, the oyster bars, pluff mud, Morris lighthouse, dolphins, funny antidotes, etc.
I had signed up for the 10 am tour but was the only person- Jody did not cancel me but asked to move me to 2pm which worked out better time wise and weather wise. He was not going to charge me the solo rate but I insisted on paying the difference. Honestly, I thought I got a great deal.

Awesome ride and captain. - This trip was awesome. Captain Jody was so friendly and even moved our time up to accommodate the weather. He was awesome, showed us so much and treated our dog like one of his own. 10/10 recommend.

A Different View of Charleston - Captain D was fantastic. He made very entertaining and informative, ensuring our family and all passengers thoroughly enjoyed the trip. He adjusted the itinerary to suit everyone’s wants, and ensure we got the angles/pictures we were after. I would absolutely recommend this trip for a unique view of Charleston.

Boat tour with Captain Jody - We enjoyed our boat tour with Captain Jody! He was very friendly and knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the tides and marsh. We saw so many dolphins and he was able to tell us about the dolphins that make their home there. Loved seeing the birds and he was able to name them all. Stopped frequently to share information regarding things we pointed out and were interested in. So nice to be on a tour that did not feel rushed. It was a delightful morning! Thank you, Jody!

A fun way to spend the morning! - Excellent tour! Very enjoyable. Captain Jody was very informative and fun - definitely knows his way around the area (and has great taste in music!) Spent 1/2 hour or so on Morris Island collecting shells. Saw birds, dolphins, & beautiful marshland. Highly recommend. We would definitely do this again!

Marvelous experience - Captain Jody was a great guide. had such a great time. Would recommend him to anyone. 5 stars. He could spot the dolphins and I got to spot a few but not quickly enough to get a picture.
