Boone Hall Plantation - We enjoyed ourselves very much at Boone Hall. The house is beautiful and learning the history of the house was a extra. There is quite a bit still there to see and the tour of the house is very good. I cannot remember her name the the lady who plays the slave and tells you about the slaves and what part they played at the plantation was great. There was also a woman in one of the slave houses making beautiful baskets that were for sale.

Beautiful Plantation - My husband and I visited Boone Hall Plantation. The tour guide was very informative. The grounds are lovely. The cabins have lots of information and history to them. The gardens are full and extremely beautiful. The avenue of Live Oaks is worth the trip.

Half a day trip - I admit it’s a bit costly for basically a transport and administration fee, the word “tour” is a bit misleading. The bus driver gives you some information about the plantation on the way there and some tips where to go/what to see but at the destination you are left alone. It’s good to take a minute and figure out what you want to see and in what order because even though you’ll have about 3 hours it can be easy to miss some of the presentations. The Gullah Theater is a must-do. The house is worth to see as well even though it’s not as old as one would expect (it’s from 1930s). All in all I enjoyed the place, lots of greenery, beautiful oak alley, beware of mosquitoes.

Drive yourself to the plantation - The Boone Hall Plantation has a lot to take in. The tour does not permit enough time to see all of the attractions and presentation. Our bus trip to and from the Plantation was extended as we dropped off and picked-up another tour at Patriot Point and our driver was not familiar with the facility. The driver then got lost driving to the plantation after stopping at Patriot Point. We spent less than 3-hours at the Plantation.

Tour Bus not needed for Boone Hall - We booked a Magnolia plantation tour and it was cancelled the day before. They gave us the option of booking another day or putting us on the Boone Hall tour. If we would have known that we could have very easily just driven ourselves to the plantation, we would have requested a refund. You don’t need the tour bus to take you to Boone Hall. It’s all self guided and you walk around and see the different places at your own leisure for about 3 hours. Take an Uber/taxi/Lyft to get there. It’s way cheaper. It cost us twice as much to take the bus and it was completely unnecessary. The Boone Hall plantation was great, but I really wish we could have seen Magnolia. They didn’t give us a clear reason why it was cancelled.
