A great adventure to visit a beautiful, historic plantation. - This trip was easy to book through Trip Advisor, the driver and transportation bus were excellent. Boone Hall was so very interesting, with excellent presentations throughout the Plantation grounds. I highly recommend this excursion.

A great overview of plantation life - Lots to see. The guides all did a great job - from the house tour, the tour/ride of the grounds, the Gullah talk, to the gin house. I only wish we would have had a little more time. I didn’t get to spend much time reading the information in the cabins.

Worth a trip. - The main house was built in the 1900’s after the original ones were replaced. Has original slave quarters that were for higher status slaves and an excellent presentation on the slave culture. A mixed view of the plantation experience.

A Blast to the Past - Visiting a plantation was a high priority for our trip to Charleston and we were so pleased we did! Boone Plantation was well maintained and the staff made you feel you were visiting friends. We began with a musical presentation by one of the local gullah women which was very moving and educational. Being from the north, we were unfamiliar with the area's history, outside of school books, and we learned so much in such a pleasant way. There is a lot of walking to see everything here but there are ample places to sit as well. Be sure a wear comfortable shoes and dress for the local weather. On a personal note, I found the restrooms to be very clean.

History in a beautiful setting - Anderson our bus driver gave us an informative tour of downtown Charleston before he drove to Boone Hall. Do not miss the presentation on the Gullah culture while at the plantation. It was the highlight of the trip

Drive Yourself! - I was disappointed when I learned that 75% of my ticket price was the bus ride from Charleston to Boone Hall and back. I had expected a more guided experience with facts and trivia that I wouldn't have received if I had just driven to Boone Hall myself and paid the $25 admission fee. We loved the house tour, the Gullah presentation and the tram ride, all of which were included in the $25 general admission fee. And the Viator description has 2 mistakes in it, it mentions in the "Before you go" topics that Magnolia Plantation has no food and beverage. Well that's a completely different tour location! Boone Hall has a. cafe! It also states the house tour is given by a guide in period dress. That must also refer to Magnolis Plantation because our house guide was in a beautiful modern outfit reflecting the holiday decor of the house. Even though we enjoyed the plantation tour, knowing what wer know now, we would have definitely driven the 20-30 miminite drive ourselves and saved the $100.
